Cost to DIY

Not sure if this belongs here for New comers to get an idea of the cost of DIY or in the Tips and Tricks under DIY e-liquid.

As a new vapor and since my initial DIY purchase was sadly inaccurrate(I ordered 0mg instead of flavors), I went looking for flavors and jotted down some of the cost. It's not an all inclusive list nor is it intended to be a quote for pricing. It's just info I gleaned from my cubical time today at work. Doing 5ml Batch @ 10% flavor it takes roughly .5 ml of flavor(according to the ejuice calculator:

Factor in concentration of flavorings . . . still experimenting myself so can't be % specific. Lorann's requires higher % to base juice. Capella's less drops than Lorann's. FlavourArt just a few drops. Started with Lorann's. Almost choked first time I used FlavourArt. Had to dilute aLOT. Haven't played with the others - yet. Tons of small bottles in organizer boxes all over my desktop. Stay away from oils - bad for atty and taste buds. Still cheaper than smoking. Lots of flavor mixes still to explore. Smells better too!
Sidebar - made lots of small batch (3 ml) yuck mixes. Felt bad letting it go to waste. Started dumping small errors into collection bottle. Ran low on nic. Gave well aged collection bottle a try. Quite good - actually very tasty. It's all gone now. Doubt I'll ever be able to duplicate. There are no mistakes just adventures.

Great post! It's nice to have a list of places to get the flavor bases. I really like the FlavourArt ones- just a few drops is all you really need for a flavorful juice.

I was also really pleased with the service, and really fast shipping from Perfumer's Apprentice.

Between the DIY flavors, and the price of unflavored nic juice- I figure it costs me less than $20 a month to vape. That is, if I actually stopped buying new vape toys every time I see a sale

Yeah I know different brands take different %'s but most of the posts I read up on for advice to new DIY'ers suggest starting at 10%. I should have also made it clear that the cost per ml was for the flavors, not necasarily the cost per ml of finished juice.

I hear ya with the mixes. I just mixed some left over bluberry with some left over irish cream and it is pretty tasty
