Yihi SX350 MOD resets its mode when I switch battery...

Im not sure if this is the proper forum, but I have a Yihi SX350 box mod. Its a Kainos by MMW Vapors.

It works great, but Ive noticed lately that every time I replace the battery, it forgets the mode/ setting it was in. Not a big problem, but I have to fiddle with the settings to get it back to reg wattage mode.
WHen I replace the battery it goes to bypass mode. Its a bit irritating as I have to press that button a few times and fiddle, before I didnt have to.

Is this a problem with the firmware? How do I update the firmware and I assume I use the proper mini/ micro USB cable to my laptop and go to Yihi? I assume there is a site to update the firmware or reset it?

Any recommendations or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I hope I dont have a problem with my mod as I love it, but its been discontinued, but MMW is making the Dryad now.

I think there was some sort of warranty on the Yihi chip ( with my luck its out of warranty)

Is it an sx350, sx350 mini or sx350J?

I'm guessing j if you have tc? If so, yes, you can update the firmware on the Yihi site. The chips have a 1 year warranty.

Hi Roxy, should have known you'd have the answers. Its not the J, it does not have TC. I tried going to the Yihi site and it was very confusing. I can find many downloads, but Im guessing I need to download a basic interface or does the firmware have that built into it?

SOrry for the lack of knowledge. I figured its working like I like it so I would never need to fiddle with upgrades etc.

The only one I see is #9, but its from last December. So I'm thinking your mod should have it, but maybe not.

Have you asked MMV about repairing it?

Yes, Im waiting for a response.. Like it said, its not a bad problem, just annoying and I posted in the MMW FB page and someone else has the same problem and he avoids it by using the charger.

Its such a pain to wait and Im a bit leery of charging with all the "fires" that Ive read about that tend to happen while charging thru the port.

Yeah, I don't charge through the ports. Aside from the inconvenience, the USB ports tend to be a weak point. I'm sorry you are having an issue, and I hope it gets resolved.

Update... Problem resolved. MMV/ Miriam instructed me on how to reset it, and at first it seemed not to change things, but after a while of it sitting , it is now behaving perfectly.

She told me that if there is any other problem just to get back to them. She told me that they would replace the Yihi chip if the reset did not work. Luckly it did, I kinda dreaded sending it back to Greece. Nice to know they stand behind their products.

I really do like my Kainos. Its one of the few box mods that I found pleasing without costing and outrageous price or waiting on a long list. Its simple.
