I love my Rx Machina, it's my favorite mod. But lately it's hitting inconsistent and the button get hot when it does. I cleaned the mod contacts and the battery contacts, and still it's getting hot. My batteries are all fairly new Vapecell Gold 20700's and Golisi S32 20700's with no damage. It also does it with both rda's with coils at about .28 ohms... please help I love this setup :|

Check for atomizer short, maybe? Stray wire touching the deck? Loose wire contacts? Fire button should never get hot in any mod and is a symptom of a major problem. Can you disassemble and clean your fire button mechanism?

How old are your batteries? What condition are the insulation wraps and insulation rings? Any evidence of arcing on the ends of the batteries? Both brands of batteries are known to have changed the cells that they use. Battery rewrappers can change out the cells they use at any time without you knowing.

There are no wires, it's an Rx Machina mech mod, yes I know the batteries have been downgraded to 25A and the atomizers are @ .27 ohms and .28 ohms each with no shorts, the same atomizers in a regulated mod are only drawing about 12.8A half the recommended amps. I just don't get it... along with the hot button the hit is weaker also. The batteries are only a month old, and the Rx Machina in only 1.5 months old.

Maybe this will help.

I got the "refined" version, I seen these issues with the battery sticking, but from what I understand it was redesigned to allow for better movement, mine moves fine and worked until the last few days it started acting up. I even tried LGH2 18650's in the included adapter and still have the issue... I'm leaning towards the internals of the switch, I just have to figure out how to take it apart

Ok, I didn't watch it (a little busy atm) but he will normally disassemble a mech tube when he reviews them.

I can take it apart easily, it's the switch itself that I can't get apart. It looks simple enough but can't figure it out... I'm going to try though, at this point it's broken anyway. I'm interested to see the condition of the spring

if you can't get the switch apart try spraying it with contact cleaner (i use the wd-40 stuff).
I'm starting to think it might be the contacts because they are shiny looking and when mod was new they were matte looking, that's a good idea about the contact cleaner I'll pick some up. This has really got me frazzled, I'm reviewing mooch's Minding your mahs and Minding your mecs videos on YouTube and don't see why this is happening. The button gets so hot on my finger and the vape is real week, it will work fine then will not... I'll start by cleaning it up real good, although I cleaned the contacts with a piece of green pad and an eraser already... Thanks for the tip

Maybe you misunderstood what I said. I know the Machina is a mech and has no wires. By checking for shorts I meant checking your RDA for shorts.

Are you making your own coils, or buying pre- made? Do you check them on an ohm reader or regulated mod, or do you take for granted that they ohm out to be what they are "supposed to be". Have you made sure that the coil legs are not touching the deck or RDA cap? Are you certain that the post screws holding the coils in place are snug and not loose?

If your RDA has an insulator, inspect to see that it is not damaged. That could be a source for a short.

I don't mean to be rude, but I can't assume on an internet forum that you already know to check these things. I don't know you or what knowledge/experience you have. Just trying to help.

The switch may not disassemble. I'd do a search on You Tube to see if any reviewers took it apart.

I don't know if the contact spray will work or not. If not, you might try a soaking in some isopropyl alcohol to clean it.

I’d double check if there are any O-rings inside the switch before using isopropyl alcohol. You would think not but better to be safe than sorry. Some grades of rubber can dry out with prolonged exposure to isopropyl alcohol and Silicone is known to expand and swell.

WD40 is a penetrating solvent. Not the best lubricant. At first it may seem like a good lubricant but over time it becomes tacky and prone to collecting dust and dirt. Good for cleaning contacts but use a light machine oil afterwards for any close tolerance moving parts.
