Hello everyone I am a new member here, it's nice to be on board with you all guys.

So, I have just bought the wismec rx gen 3 dual, and have some problems/issues with it since day one.

1. The first one is, the firing button sometimes works, the other times it will only fire up to like 1 or 2 secs and just stop firing eventhough my thumb is still pressing it, therefore I need to press it again. And this happens a lot of time.

2. Secondly, this mod always reads my ohm way higher than it should be. I have checked it on an ohm-meter and it shows 0.78 ohm, the same exact on my other mods.
But when i attach it to my gen 3 dual it will read ranging from 0.88 to 0.94. That's like 1.6 ohm higher than the actual value which is intolerable.
And everytime i put my atomizer on and off , the resistance will ALWAYS change. It is the most inconsistent resistance reading i've ever seen on a mod yet. Usually yes they do change maybe around 0.2-0.3 ohm difference. But this? I can get 0.85 the first time and the next time it will be 0.93 oh my god.

3. Last of all, the imbalance battery discharge. I don't know whether it's the software that display it incorrectly or it's the hardware that discharge my battery unevenly. It will always discharge battery number 2 faster than number 1.

I don't know what to do anymore with this device, it is my first experience using wismec mod, and perhaps would be my last. I hope you guys can help me on this because i've looked anywhere and can't find a solution or at least knowing what's the actual problem. Thank you in advance

LG HG2 with 0.88 ohm (what the mod reads) round wire build for MTL
It's fairly typical to have one cell discharge a little faster than another. Unless it's drastic, I'd not worry. To minimize the effects, rotate the cells when swapping.

If the build is SS, the fluctuations will happen. If it's Kanthal, check for loose connections in your atomizer.

Thank you, now i am a little calm about the batteries. Currently using kanthal 26 on 2.5mm ID, 6 wraps. That should be at least 0.8 maximum but this mod reads it at like 0.88 to 0.96. I don't know what causes it, but all screw are tight and fit

Some mods just read higher than average. If it's consistent (although it sounds like it isn't, and if you are using kanthal, your resistance shouldn't change). It could be your build I suppose, and if the build is bad, I guess it could be causing your mod to operate in a sort of wonky fashion. I'd make sure everything is secure, no tiny wire snips around anywhere and that the legs are securely trimmed.

It is Equally possible (IMHO as always) that you got a defective mod and something is going on with the electronics. It's really hard to say since it's your first setup and well, user error happens.

I would watch a youtube review or two on your mod and tank (if you haven't) to make sure you have everything set up as you should.. If you do, it's possible you might want to go to a brick and mortar vapor store (if you have one near you) and get their assistance, they could try other tanks on the mod to see if it's the build, the tank, the mod, and also maybe look at your build for you. If they find continuing, ongoing problems with it, I would warranty the setup if it's still under warranty which it sounds like it should be.

Best of luck and welcome to ECF I'm sorry your first setup is giving you issues, but it does happen. I hope you can get the issue resolved, and if not, keep going (maybe try something else for a second setup) vaping is well worth it!

Best of luck,

Anna

Thank you for mentioning it, I'm quite new to vaping (around 6 months) and yes this is the first time I encounter so many problems.
I believe every screw on the coil is tight and secured on my rta, and no tiny wire around or touching the deck as it will cause atomizer short indication pops out. Have tried using my friend's rda and this mod reads it still higher but not as high when using my rta, and the result is more consistent. Which makes me think if both mod's and rta's positive pin is not protruding enough therefore it doesn't make good contact, resulting in bad resistance reading. But is that possible? Because if it doesn't make good contact shouldn't it show no atomizer and won't let me fire it? Thank you

Well, if you've got a connection problem, I think it may make sense that you might get intermittent contact, leading to all the strange issues.

I'd clean the connections (mod and tank) and you may be able to get the center pin to protrude more by turning the screw from (inside) the tank a couple turns, making it slightly longer? You may or may not be able to do that with your topper, I don't own one, so I couldn't say for sure.

It might be worth a shot. Make sure there's no gunk on the pin and swab/clean your mod's 510 connection to make sure no e-liquid got under there, causing it to get "stuck" in a depressed condition.

That's about all I got to offer, but I wish you luck. You could try an insulator or a heat sink between the mod and the tank, that might offer you a better connection if the above remedies do not work.

Good luck sorting it out!

Both mod and tank are new, and I have cleaned the 510 prior using em. Umm nope, can't manipulate the 510 on my rta since it's not really adjustable (merlin mini) and screwing the deck down all the way is the most i can get but still having that connectiviy issues. Btw the heatsink is really a good idea, haven't even think about that. Might give it a shot.

I'll start with
2) As this is a regulated device and you're using kanthal, so wattage mode, the difference normally isn't that important, but kanthal shouldn't fluctuated much if at all. That said, if this mod is defective and going all over the map with bad readings, that's not a good thing.

3) these batteries, were they purchased together, and are they an actual brand and not rejected rewraps? The may be a bit of a difference but a properly married set should balance out after a few charging cycles.

So about 1)...

Regrettably, Wismec is notorious for having issues in almost all their models. Some people have been lucky and hit one of the good ones, but the rest are hit with defects ranging from bad boards, bad screens, bad pins, bad wiring, etc.

Personally I gave Wismec a chance with the Predator (2 of them) as early reviews were very positive and it's a very nice looking mod.

Annnnnnnnd the day after my order, the word of the bad 510 pin showed up online... BUT I was lucky and haven't had that particular issue, but instead, I had one with the USB port with the metal outer part falling out, both had issues with the paint and finish coming off almost right away, both had issues with reading the coils correctly and dropping out of TC mode on a regular basis, etc. and so, neither are really used anymore.

So what you're describing is an unsurprising Wismec issue.

Their following models also had reports of common issues, so for me, Wismec is a brand that I'll never buy again unless some massive improvement happens down the road.

Welcome and glad you joined.
"the firing button sometimes works" this problem alone is cause for a return.
Could contact:
local B&M Vape Shop (Visit) -----Might be simple.
Vendor who sold it ---see if they will repair or replace or advise (any authorized distributor).
Manufacturer contact ---see if they will repair or replace or advise.

Hey new member here but with sort of the same problem. Have been vaping long time building just as long been using temp control for about a year now I bought my twisted messes 30 about a month ago and was looking for a mod to house it duel was perfect and I already owned the 3 battery version and loved it having 8500 hits on it.

So I got it in the mail last week it was very hard finding the gun metal one but I did. So I built framed alien Clapton’s in SS 316L each coil came in about 0.25 to 0.30 which was perfect. So 8 wraps each and loaded them in the tw30.

Hit the fire button nothing screen says shorted ok maybe I have something touching so took it apart re wicked oh and I should Mention that I preheat my coils on my coil master ohm reader. Still shorted then my eye saw the Resistance on the mod 0.05 what???!!

So I put it on my DNA 75c it was 0.17 so that’s good should have no problem firing this. So for ....s and giggles I put the atty on my gen 3 3 battery and guess what 0.17 vapes wonderful no problems temp mode was working properly also.

So obviously I have a bad mod I tried to update just to rule that out but no dice now it won’t read any coils or resistances. There is only 7 puffs on my duel and those 7 where air not vapes but I haveing problems finding someone to help me so I guess I’m out of my 60 dollars and will have to buy another one if I can find that color very upset about this I used to stand behind wismecs products if they don’t fix this I swear the duel will be the last product I’ll ever buy from them
