Will the Off-Stamp SW9000 work without the battery?

i used a hot wire rig to charge it without the battery pack, i put the red wire on the far right side positive node and the white wire on the middle node with the mouth piece facing towards me

Can You be more specific on how? I’ve been trying and maybe I’m stupid but I can’t figure it out
