wicking questions

I've recently gotten into rebuildables in a pretty big way and I'm been experimenting with my options.

I've tried cotton and it seems okay, but i find myself needing to rewick pretty often.

I've tried silica, and it's a giant pain in my ..., it feels like you would only use it in really specific builds, is that a fair assessment or am i missing something?

Finally, I've started using rayon and it seems to be the winner. It seems to last, wicks really well and is flavor neutral.

Are there other materials i should try? Anything new people are crazy about?

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you. Originally used silica rope then moved to organic cotton. I found the taste from cotton a bit off but superior to silica. Switched to rayon several months ago and haven't looked back. I juice it up after rewicking, fire it a few times before I vape it and the flavor is great from the first puff.

Cellucotton is available in 100% cotton or rayon

Be sure to order the correct one!

I have been using the 100% cotton I got here and it's great. A 40 foot box was around 6 bucks shipped.

Haven't tried the rayon yet.

FYI...I get about 6 wicks per 2 inch chunk...so that forty foot box should yield around 1400 wicks ;)

cellucotton eh?

I am going to have to look into that... what is is sold to be used for?

I may have to try it.

It's sold to be used when doing things like perms - I think it helps keep the harsh solutions off your face, neck, stuff like that?

But get the one that says rayon! The 500 foot box is number 44060. Sally's only carries the 40-foot length in cotton! (The boxes all look the same, except they say either 100% cotton or 100% rayon on the front).

i have been using rayon in my rda for the last two weeks. The flavour, to me, is unmatched by anything. I've been going through my old juices from months ago and finding new love for all my old favourites. For example, one of my ultimate all day vapes is Hansels Folly by Kraken eliquids (UK company). Its advertised as a gingerbread and chocolate. now i've never tasted the chocolate in the vape, ever, but the gingerbread is amazing in my nautilus mini (rebuilt coil with organic cotton). Tried it in my rda last night with a rayon wick, and it tastes really fresh, like the fresh ginger i use in cooking lol. Amazing difference :) hope this helps

I've gone thru several dif wicking materials and cellucotton wins for me
Never a dry hit, wicks incredibly - having said that everyone's tastes/preferences are different
If you want to try cellucotton aka rayon (as it's been said make sure it is the correct type not cotton) There is an eBay seller that sends 25ft free ship for $5 dollars
That 25 ft will last you a LONG time - important note is never dry burn cellucotton as it is rayon (just like a material for a shirt) it will melt. I use it in my Kayfuns, Dark Horse, TOBH, Lemo - even rebuilding single coil for the aero tank mega . Again just as with juice YMMV and taste is up to the individual - this from a person who even spent the $$ on RXW so... just my 2 cents
