Welcome to ECF, Amrit pal. A RDA is not safe to smoke from, but it is safe to vape from. :vapor: It's not uncommon for a coil to glow when a high voltage or wattage is applied to it, especially if it's a low resistance coil. What voltage or wattage are you using and what is the ohm resistance of the coil or coil head (drop-in coil already wicked)?

eta: from your post it seems like you may be using too high a voltage or wattage if by 'comes out' you mean the coil melts and breaks apart.

The lowest resistance coil I ever wrapped came out to be just under 1 ohm (most of my coils are closer to 2 ohms) and I couldn't apply more than 3.1 or 3.2 volts to it without it being uncomfortable for me. Perhaps someone else who travels in 'low ohm land' more than I do will be able to help you out.

Well I couldn't say what is best for you, there are too many variables in that equation to make it a simple 'a + b = c' answer. I'm about to sign off for the night, but some questions you could answer so that others can help you too are: How long did you smoke? How much did you smoke? What kind of cigarettes did you smoke? Note that it's not just the resistance of the coil to consider. Do you want a tight draw or an airy draw? Do you want big clouds? What kind of and how much flavor are you seeking? Welcome to the rabbit hole bud..

I just want to ask is rda are safe to smoke i smoke from last 9 years only use subohm tanks yesterday i buy rda tank but now im little bit scared because when i smoke i see the wire goes red and comes out thats the thing i was scared from. Please tell me is there any issues with rda or not and are they safe to smoke.

Hi @Amrit pal, and welcome to ECF. You said you smoked for 9 years, but I think you meant you vaped for that time, using subohm tanks exclusively. I'm thinking the RDA is your first experience with a rebuildable atomizer, but please correct me if I got any of this wrong :)

First off, if any part of your wire is getting so hot it turns red when there is a wet (with juice) wick inside it, it is not safe to vape. It will also taste bad, like 'burnt' juice. If it does that you need to change the coil design (wire gauge, number of coil wraps, coil inside diameter) and/or reduce the watts you have set. This is true for any atomizer, be it any kind of tank or RDA. If you mean that without any juice on the wire it turns red when you apply power, that's normal for all atomizers.

RDA's are just as safe to vape as subohm tanks. In my opinion, rebuildable atomizers are safer than tanks which use heads because with these we have full control of the coil because we design and make them ourselves, instead of replacing the head that has all that already assembled inside it. It goes without saying that you need to know enough about coil and wick design and build to be able to make a safe and vapeable setup for the atomizer you have and the power you want to vape at.

If you have any questions about this side of it, just ask and we will help. For this it would help if we knew more about your current coil design, like the wire gauge, inside diameter, number of wraps and how many coils. I believe you want to vape it at around 80 watts, but again, correct that if I got it wrong.

I believe when I made that 'not uncommon' remark I was probably brain fused to new coil dry burns.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OP was right, the coils turning red when he hit his mod, he is certainly smoking. Cotton.

I was just about post the same thing

OP if your coil is glowing red when you vape, turn the voltage down, otherwise you'll be smoking cotton instead of vaping ejuice.
