If it's an iClear 30 (not 30s), I believe it's like the heads on the iClear 16. For my iC16's, I take the plastic
tank off, the rubber cone seal off, leaving the head on the base, and rinse them out under the hottest water I can stand, gently twisting the wicks apart just enough to flush them clear. I'll dry them off a bit with some vapertowels (that term still makes me chuckle), and put the base/head on my eGo battery, and let the sucker glow.
I go about 5 seconds on, 5 off to cool, and repeat until the dark deposits turn into light ash. At that point, I can either rinse it again, or if I'm impatient, I'll just blow the ashes out, and let the wicks air dry for an hour or so. After that, I put it back together, check resistance, and let 'er rip.
If the
coils survive the dry-burn, I find they'll usually remain trouble-free. I have a couple that are a month or so old, still tootin' strong.
I haven't tried dry-burning coils for the 30s I have.
