What's the secret to bigger puffs?

I've been vaping for a couple of months now and I basically love it but I really want some bigger clouds of vapor. Not insane clouds necessarily, but bigger than what I'm getting now.

I understand that more volts == bigger vapes but ... anything above about 4.2 v results in big clouds of nasty burnt taste.

I have several Vision Spinners and also a Vamo V3. The Vamo goes all the way up 15 watts but ... anything about about 6-6.5 watts tastes like I'm smoking rubber insulation.

I vape with Kanger Evods and a Kanger Protank.

Unless you wrap your own coils (check Rip-tripper on Youtube), the Protank wont give you 'huge' clouds with stock coils. EVODs? No way. You are talking about getting into more extreme vaping and the only thing I would tell you is to get some experience under your belt before you leap and be safe! Do real, honest research before you start. There are a veritable gaggle of videos on Youtube about how to do it. Good luck and have fun!

Only way to get massive clouds like the sub ohmers is to sub ohm...to get larger clouds from normal clearos or tanks, instead of one long hard drag, I take multiple puff drags like off a pipe or trying to start a 1/2 lit analog, other than that...only way to get the BIG CLOUDS....MORE POWAH!

Only way to get more power, regular volts but very very low ohms

An analogy:
Question: Why can't I get my 4 cylinder to run the quarter mile in 9 seconds

Answer: More Power!

Hey there mclarkson, I have heard that a greater % of VG will produce more "clouds". I notice a difference between a 70/30 PG/VG and a 50/50 PG/VG juice. :vapor:

Big Lungs? :vapor:
Oh man I wish...used to be able to run 3 miles in 19 minutes...

Unfortunately 20 years of "tarring my lungs" with analogs...things went down hill :(

Maybe by removing the tar but still getting my nicotine will let my body heal itself and I can once again get my "big lungs" back :)

Yay alternative forms of nicotine delivery

Yeah not going to get the action you want on a Kanger. To restrictive to be able to feed enough juice at 15 watts. Need to look into a quality rba. I am currently vapping at 14.4 watts to 15.5 watts and loving it. I am using a micro coil build on my rba's in one form or another. Since you like bottom feeders like I do, would recommend checking out the Kayfun, Ithaka, SQuape, and the clones of each. I currently am running the Russian and the Rocket, both Kayfun clones but the Russian is far superior in build quality and performance. You can find a Kayfun lite for ~$110. Paid $95 for the Russian. Have a Terminator on order, and will be notified when the SQuape becomes available.

As always, do you research first, check out YouTube on how to build the rba's that you are interested in, and see if it would be something that you would be comfortable doing, then find the best price.

Then after the dust settles, check out the DIY juice section. Always more learning to do. lol

get a dripper, drill the whole out a little and build a 1.5ohm micro coil with 28ga kanthal and wick it with cotton. use it on the vamo and im sure you will be happy.

I built a 2 ohm micro on a igo l and it makes good clouds on the ego twiste, but because it takes so long to heat up its not that satifying, crank it on a vamo and im sure it will be much better. Which reminds me I gave that set up to my brother to try on his z max, will have to see how its running

So ... the secret is to achieve the lowest possible resistance/ohms?

Umm, not so much, the draw is the most important item for any atty, carto, clearo, top or bottom coil, stock or re-buildable.

Make it a long, slow, gentle draw, allow the coil to heat up just enough.
Start by pressing the fire button 1/2 second before drawing (slight pre-heat) the take a long, slow gentle pull, 1/2 way through let go the fire button briefly and re-fire, (this allows the coil to cool very slightly, and draws up more juice) then finish the draw letting go of the fire button 1/2 second before you're finished (cools the coil, draws up more juice, reduces condensation)

Sounds complicated but after a few days becomes second nature, works with any "topper", and resistance (if low ohm increase the time off the button in the middle).

Also, don't get hung up on numbers, ohms, volts, watts, amps all don't matter, it's what tastes good to you, flavor is number one consideration!!

you don't have to drill a hole on a dripper. Just get a dripper name trident. It comes in clone and authentic ones. Both work wonders & similar. Yes you need a sub ohm, educate yourself on what you can do on low ohm, sub ohm, how to build your own coil. Once you have learnt all that, it'll be as easy as poof. it taste better too than the custom tanks. In long run, I'd say cheaper in maintenance as well.

1. Learn to vape well on a starter rig. There is a learning curve, it isn't smoking.
2. Educate yourself about battery safety. Current rating, in particular.
3. Learn Ohm's law and then Watt's law. This will show you how to safely implement the second point.
4. Watch Youtube videos showing coiling and wicking technique.
5. Make a few dozen coils and vape them with a few dozen juices on a couple of different devices.
6. Decide that it really isn't worth the effort or expense and get some cartomizers and tanks, repeat step 1.

Just my two cents.

I know it's not what you want to hear, but try this :

Close your eyes while you're vaping, does it satisfy ?? If it does then why go for plumes of vapour. That's what I normally do when I get the urge to be a human smoke machine

As others have posted though, sub-ohm vaping takes a lot of know-how and research. To be honest I tried a 0.7 ohm coil myself and nearly coughed up a lung - not nice at all. These days I generally build coils between 1.2 ohms and 2.4 ohms, depending on what device I'm using it on. I can get plenty of vapour on a cotton coil on a Kayfun, but still have amazing flavour and throat hit. More VG in a mix does give more vapour too

Very amusing because it's true. You either stay at step 5 and proceed to 5a, b, c, etc. or move to step 6. I'm probably at 5b right now. Enjoying it immensely and not sure if I will end up at 5z or step 6. I'll probably continue on step 5 for a while as I want to leave no stone unturned, and frankly have a nice investment in the "right" gear for step 5, and remain super curious about all aspects of RBA's and RDA's. Thank you for this most excellent explanation.

I have a 1.2 ohm micro coil with a cotton wick set up in a Kayfun Lite. It's on a ProVari Mini set at 3.7 volts. I like heavy VG juices...usually 70/30 or 80/20. The build is very simple and I don't have to worry about any battery mishaps. The taste is amazing and there's more vapor than I care to exhale....
