What is the solution? Airhole position.

Hi guys,

Can one of you MacGyver types (said with the utmost respect) figure out a solution for being able to line up the mod firing button and the air hole at the bottom. I like to fire the button with my thumb ie in a below the mod position when it is tilted. Invariable when I screw in an rba the air hole is on the top which is the worst place for good wicking (when tilted). So I always end up having to fire the mod with my index finger if the air hole is to be on the bottom. It is quite annoying as I have everything else working perfectly. Does this bother anyone else or am I just being a whinger?

Would we need an adapter or mod with a rotating head. Thanks if anyone has any ideas or recommendations.

the air hole being on the top side or bottom doesn't really affect the vape OP.
What does affect the vape quality is airhole position in relation to the wick.
If you can get your airhole to line up with the wick, you win the game.
As far as the wick lining up with your firing button, thats up to you and your preference.
I like that too. So all I do is if the wick goes past the firing button when screwed in all the way...
I just back up my atty a bit until the wick does line up with my thumb.

If its totally on the other side when screwed down and will not fire when you back it off till its in position..
Then it sounds like you've got the wick in the wrong hole (no pun lol) go ahead and pop it in the adjacent 1.

yea my Pro/Zap set is the same way lined up perfectly,i tilt my ecigs from habit when vaping and also like to use my thumb for firing, took me awhile to get used to using my finger for firing as well, using it with the fill hole towards the bottom (so i could use the thumb) did not work out to well, but only took a few days to get used to using it right great set up wouldn't switch it for anything now.

The Provari & Zap have the wick, airhole and firing button perfectly in line.

I have a similar issue with an AGA-T2. The wick/airhole on the RBA does not line up with the firing button. You can either back off the RBA a bit or get used to having the firing button in a different place.

If you have a Provari/ZAP with the wick lined up perfectly with the button, when tight, you got lucky. I have 3 Provari/ZAP set ups, and none of them are lined up.

Ah ok then I am worrying about something that isn't an issue. I just got it in my head -I think from a P Busardo vid that it was important. I will banish the concern and get on enjoying my vaping. Thanks guys.

There's two ways for the juice in the tank to get to the coil. Gravity, or capillary action. Gravity involves tipping, in order to get the juice to flow toward the coil. Capillary action is like laying a paper towel on a puddle of water. The towel gets wet because of capillary action. If your wicks are built properly, this is how they should work. If they work this way, it doesn't matter where the wick is when you vape.

I believe you can send them off to Provape to have the top cap aligned so the button and air hole will line up.

The top cap on a Provari is just press-fit. You can easily pop it off with a pin punch or similar and rotate it yourself if that's something you're comfortable with. They're very hard to mess up unless you somehow break the PCB.

When the ZAP is fully tight on the Provari, I have a full eclipse ... lol ... the wick vertically dead in line with the firing button. Mind you I just bought it and the ZAP is the Provari dedicated one, so maybe they've made some minor changes on it since.

You could probably play around cutting out washers from thin cardboard or something like that and attach between the PV and the genny. Not sure if that'll work though.

how do you get the best capillary action in SS mesh wicks? anyone know?
There is a pretty good thread on it here: Solid vs. hollow SS wicks?

You might be able to mess around with the center pin height to get it to line up correctly. Try screwing it onto the device without the nuts on the top of the center pin. If you can get it lined up and then lock it into place with the nuts. You could also adjust how much you screw the top cap onto the center tube, not sure how much room the oring has to make a seal. Between the two adjustments you should be able to get it where you want it.
