As far as I understand the video was supposed to be an advert for Gatorade and the benefits of rehydration but actually it came out that the symptoms he described he blamed on vaping.
It is possible this video was hijacked by the Anti vaping Brigade.
Many of the symptoms he described can be attributed to hyporthyroidism, from which he suffers as do I.
That's the sum and substance of my knowledge of the affair - others may know more.

He basically took a chunk of cash to advertise a product and claimed it helped with health issues he was having due to vaping and he angered many by using vaping to push this product. To be honest I'm not really interested in anything to do with him as his credibility was low before all this and this has just added speed to his demise.
So many reviewers now have their own "ejuice line". With a link to it under their videos. 
(I guess their ability to review hardware has made them master ejuice makers. )
Here is the offending video. Some people were offended because he mentioned vaping has side effects. (I guess I don't understand being offended by that, since I have recorded some of my own, and had medical testing to back it up...) they are mild but they ARE side effects. (hope I don't get banned from vaping forums for saying that LOL) but apparently, to a large number of people in the vaping community, saying vaping has side effects is ......grounds for hanging or something.
Some people were offended because it appeared he was hawking a hydration product.
Some people were offended because there was an inference that hypothyroidism is caused by being fat.

None of that, IMHO, is "intelligent" behavior, ie. to make claims or shill products (which violates the FCC rules on endorsements) ,
so it does kinda crack me up when the vaping community relies on people like this to "inform" them.

You read my mind, I really enjoyed his older video's but yeah now, it's all about subscribers and revenue payouts from Youtube hits and adverts...I don't blame him but he isn't the same guy anymore in front of a camera..

Sorry to be off topic for a moment, but people who are "outraged" by the "fact" that being fat causes hypothyroidism needs to know being fat does not cause hypothyroidism, hypothyroidism causes some people to be fat, and when they gain so much weight, it tends they find out they have it. That's what happened to my daughter. She gained a huge amount of weight in a year without changing her eating habits, even tried to severely cut back with no success and we found out from a blood test that she had it. It can take longer from some people to find out if they haven't been to the doctor, so it makes it look to some people that being fat or overweight causes it. It just severely attacks metabolism among other things because your thyroid is a regulator.
Now to stay on topic, hypothyroidism can cause dehydration, but vaping can as well. Stay hydrated. And not by Rip shrilling for gaterade. Water is good enough.
Rip has been annoying for many years, but he has a following of sheep who keep him going. His attempt to make more $$ at the expense of his integrity is a shame. Those who felt he was a borderline idiot before can feel vindicated because he's just proven himself to be a sell out and true fool.
A guy called Tristan and his girlfriend made a video criticizing him, that in my opinion was just a shot at promoting his own channel.
His video is at 165,000 views now so I guess he succeeded.

I can't sit through it. He is too annoying, and his voice is too annoying. And the excessive editing is annoying.

People, me included, P.O.'ed because He CLAIMED NOT to be Selling anything, but the whole Video was Commercialized and he even had Links that made him Money......That IS SELLING and a COMMERCIAL.
He should have stuck to what he created and left well enough alone. Now people see just how far he is willing to go for a Buck.

Second... he's just pimping some electrolyte replenishment powder (Brawndo anyone? ).
Maybe it helps. I don't have muscle cramps, but I'd investigate the hell out of it before I bought some, his recommended brand or any other. I'd do the same for anything Dr. Oz pimps, if I thought Oz was worth a shred of respect.
Last, as usual... Rip is just too damn scattered in his thoughts. And his machine gun delivery means I need to rewatch the vid to see if his story represents a logical progression to a viable treatment.
