I have a DNA30 Hana clone with a single 2000 mAh trustfire 18650.
I usually only vape single coils at around 10 Watts, but even with that low usage, the battery barely lasts a day and I vape passthrough %50 of the time. The battery's only 2-3 months old. Rather than carry a spare battery (and screwdriver to open the Hana), I'll get a dual 18650 mod.

It'd be nice to hook one of those giant RDAs on once in a while and vape a big quad coil at like 150 Watts, but usually I'll just be vaping single coil 10 Watts. So I guess I should get batteries that can do 150W, but if using them for 10W single coils %75 of the time means I might run low on battery even with 2X 18650, then I guess I'll get whatever batteries are better for 10W (but I do sometimes run it up to 30W for a couple hits to burn away excess juice if I over fill the RDA, but if that will drain the battery or stress it, I can just open the RDA and fling the extra juice away).

Since the 150W box mods are barely more $ than 30-100W, I guess I'll get a 150+W which should also have better resale value when I replace it down the road.

I'm looking for suggestion on batteries and box mod, quite a few box mods, Cloupor T8, IPV3, SMY Simeiyue God 180 Watt Box looks cool. I want to avoid preorders and V1s in case there's bugs. Maybe I should wait for V2s?

edit, the god 180W is apparently gigantic, so I don't think I want that unless she has tiny hands? edit again, since it's triple 18650, and she probably does have tiny hands, I might get it.

Not sure why so many DNA30 mods have only one batt because I too am concerned about more batt times...
Try Steam Engine site; it runs the calculations on most of the devices and and you plug in your atomizer specs (coil resistance, etc) and will tell you how long the batt will last.
I was looking for a dual 18650 sample but couldn't figure how to get that lol...

Anyway you might just look for a device that has easy access to the batt for fast changes (magnet door box ).

10 to 20w shouldn't be much of a concern I would guess for batt times imo... (uneducated in electronic things).

I do have dual 18650 DovPo eMech and imo its awesome for the $... and it will go up to 30w.

I am looking for a dual batt dna40 device and right now (well when they come out) the Vapor Flask is the only dual 18650 dna 30 (40 soon) that I know of, BUT i doubt I will be quick enough to snag one online... at the high price retail of $300 even. But that's the one I'm drooling over.

btw i have 2 Raptor120 boxes, a Sig 100 on the way, and a Ranger 50w OKR T10 coming.

The raptors last pretty darn long at 20w... I plan on selling one or two to make way for a Flask and or other dna40 device.

I've seen one of the dual 18650 Boxes, not sure which one, sized up to a Hana DNA30 box and a few others like the Itaste box, and it's barely 1/4" wider, they could easily have fit 2 18650s. They probably knew that but wanted to sell everyone a single 18650 mod at first and then release the dual version so they buy again!

Anyway, I guess I'll wait it out for any potential bugs to be fixed with the newer 150W boxes, was hoping someone would say get MOD XYZ V2 and Because 123. the triple 18650 mod I think is $100 only, maybe I'll see if it's not gigantic, my Smoktech Groove wasn't too big and it's significantly wider than my Hana box. Or I'll just get a 150W IPV3 or something.

I just don't want to put more $ in batteries in it than the MOD costs to be able to run 150+W only to use more than 10W %5 of the time and get poor battery life %95 of the time. But maybe if I get one of those huge RDAs that can fit 4+ large coils to use 100+ watts will be my every day vape. I am trying to cut down, so maybe one huge hit now and then will be better than more 10W vapes.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-saying-2x18650-mods-have-twice-run-time.html

I just read this quickly last night... will have to go over it again (and again) as electronics is totally confusing to my brain... let me know if it gets you what you want.

In the first place I don't know if 2 18650 batts in a DNA chip devices matters for time of use since they are best used for low to mid wattage - (but you can up the voltage and keep watts low if resistance is higher).

With high wattage devices ( i rarely go over 25w except for dual coil RDA's then I'm at around 40 to 70w, and that's about 25% of the time) if you are going about 10 to 20w, but have dual batts, do you really need them? In your case i guess it would be yes.

* a question I have is in the thread i linked above, is using 2 batts dangerous if you put them in wrong by mistake; according to what i read somewhere if not in that thread, is that single batt devices have a reverse polarity mechanism for safety but duals don't? so that's why most vendor boxes don't have dual batts?

I'll have to check the specs on the dual batt boxes for that.

The Flask is worth drooling over for sure.

When you say Raptor are you meaning the chip or something else? I ask because I am never quite sure when I see this mentioned. I know there is a Raptor chip, for example I have my eye on the Gryphon Raptor 120 using the Raptor board. And then some use the term Raptor for specific devices as well, for example the Sigelei 100w was labeled as the Raptor by vendors but it uses the Yihi chip.

The IPV3 I recently received is listed as having reverse polarity protection but I am not looking to test it out, so is the Sigelei 100w that you have. The single batt Hana Modz does not have reverse protection, the earlier versions of the Cana also did not have the rpp and them claimed it did in later versions. So I think it just depends on the box.

I have DreamBox 120w with the Raptor chip, and a same chip box by Rapture from Calivapers forum. The DB is aluminum and has no LED readout and the Rapture is fancier; has a LED inside that shows batt charge and volts to the atomizer by clicking and firing for readouts.
They can go up to 120w w/max 6volts. Dual 18650's.
They are like the sub ohmers dream...
Wheras these can go up in watts, the DNA can go higher in voltages.

Looking to get another. Might just wait for the 40w. Didn't know they were coming out with one. Thanks for the tip.

DSI 30 from crown dual mods in pahrump, nv. Authentic evolv DNA 30 dual 18650 batteries same form factor as the IPV. Fatdaddy spring loaded 510. $130. Well made original device. Hard to beat that price.

In my experience with 18650s and the DNA 30 I get much more than 2x the run time with dual batteries. It surprised me and I've ran comparisons for months as I figured it would be 2x but I'm finding it to be much more.

I've got 3 DNA 30 mods, no clones, a ZNA 30, Hana Box I built with a DNA 30 and a DIY bottom feeder I built with 2 18650s wired in parallel. I'm rarely if ever over 14 watts at around 1.2 ohms. Using the Hana box or ZNA exclusively I'm lucky to get a day, usually a little less at my vape pace. With my dual batt bottom feeder I get well over 3 and many times 4 and have gone 5 a few times before I charge it. I built a dual DNA 30 bottom feeder for a friend and he's experiencing the same results.

I don't understand why there is such a wide range in run times as I was expecting 2x but it's there.

what batts are you using?......if VTC's where did you get-um?
I usually use authentic vtc5 from past trusted eBay vendors that I've purchased from before and confirmed authenticity. Origin vape and madtown vapor have authentic vtc4 and 5 but they sell out fast. However I'm using 3 xmjo from madtown vapor. They are 35A batteries and Dino at madtown tested them equal to vtc5. I have to say I've been using the god box since I got it Thursday last week and the batteries are only 1/2 used (according to the battery meter on the box). They are out performing any battery I have used so far. I highly recommend them and at 12 bucks each it is a good deal. Make sure you get the right one. He has 2 mxjo, one is a 35A battery and the other is 20A with a killer mAh, but they are same the same price. I went for the higher amps because god box won't fire in super mode safely with under 25A.

Sent from a cool but overpriced phone on TapaCrack at yo mama's house.

appreciate the info......the rumor is that the MXJO batt is a re-wrapped LG-He2, until there is some solid info and test conformation i'm staying away from them plus the HE2'S are a-lot cheaper and have confirmed spec's.....don't know if i bought the GOD-Box if i would want to go over 80 watts but i sure like the idea of 3 batts and Vape-time....glad your enjoying it....:toast:

i have the Sig 100 and i'm liking it also :vapor:

IDK about vape time iirc the GOD has the triples in series which is why it's able to crank the voltage. maH should be the same as a single 18650 though, anyone can confirm?
