I haven't seen sponges listed as a cart refiller. are they made out of something that wouldn't work?

The closest thing I found that represents a foam sort, was suggested by a very smart member
it is FLUVAL FOAM MOUSE FILTER FOR FISH tanks
THE NUMBERS 204/205 THEY HAVE THREE VARIATION
100'2 200/300 AND 400"S THE DENSITY LEVELS ARE WHAT MAKES THEM DIFFERENT

I like the filters a lot, I tried everything there is and this is tHE beST of theM FOR ME

I just tried a small piece of ShamWow to see how that worked and found it did work... it absorbed a ton of liquid and smoked fine ... However, It seems it likes to hold onto the juice a little too much - Does not appear to wick to well... I need to do more testing but this are my initial thoughts... Still gotta find some of the FluVal to try...

From a scientific standpoint, that is the problem with things like chamois' and sponges that make them poor cartridge filler material. They hold ont liquid rather than allowing them to leech or wick back out.

LOL. I thought about Shamwow. Things that like to hold on to liquid just don't quite cut it. The poly fill stuff just dosen't absorb anything, it holds it, so it can flow to the wick.
I just laugh everytime I think of Shamwow, Vince is frickin funny.

I've confirmed that the Fluval Foam filters are indeed a very porous, almost honeycomb like polyester sponge. Seems to be perfect for our purposes. It doesn't stick to the atomizers in stringy bits and pull off like the Water Polishing pads or the polyfill. It wicks very nicely, holds a good amount of liquid. Don't overfill and don't leave your e-cig upright as you will flood the atomizer. I found a good rinsing before using helps, and they seem to be durable enough to stand up to quite a few cleanings as well. Here's a link:

FOAM BLOCK FOR FLUVAL 404 - 2 PK | HAGEN | SPONGES & FOAM | FILTER MEDIA & CARTRIDGES

The difference in the various sizes from 104 to 405 seems to be in length and width. Thickness remains constant. I also opened up the different sizes at Petco and they all had the same consistency. I went with the 404/405 because I thought it would yield the most cart re-packs.
