Hi there every one
Been vaping for a long time now just one thing that I still don’t clearly understand what do all these number mean next to descriptions of wire or coils
Clapton 26/36
Fused clapton 2-28/36
Tri-core fused clapton 3-26/36
Staple 8-1*3/36
Framed staple 2-28/4 .1*3/36
For the life of me I can’t get my head around them numbers. Normally I just by a reel of wire Clapton’s for example but never ever look at the numbers because I don’t understand them , just buy it and make my own coils regardless of the numbers, I understand the gauge but that’s it .

The number to the left of the slash is the core wire gauge and the number to the right is the wrap wire gauge. In a multi-core wire, there is a number designating the number of wires in the core.

Wire Diameters are often measured in Gauges. For the Wire we use, just about All of it uses the American Wire Gauge (AWG).

In the American Wire Gauge, Bigger Diameter Wires have Smaller Gauge Numbers. And Smaller Diameter Wires have Larger Gauge Numbers.

It's kinda seems Azz Backwards. But it is what it Is.

So a 24 Gauge (24ga for short) Wire has a Bigger Diameter than say a 30 Gauge (30ga) Wire.

As CC mentioned, the 1st Number or a Pair or Multiple Numbers is the Core Wire Size. And the Last Number(s) is the Outer Wire that is Wrapped around the Core. Almost Always this Outer Wire(s) have a Smaller Diameter than the Core Wire it is wrapped around.

So if you see something like "Fused clapton 2-28/36"...

That tells you that the Core of the Coil is made up of Two 28ga Wires. And that around these Two Core Wires there is wrapped a Thinner 36ga Wire.
