So I feel like I have a big old lump in my throat - you think this is from the PG/VG content or some sort of reaction to PG? Overall I feel great, no other real noticeable nicotine withdrawal symptoms, trying to drink tons of water, etc. just a strange throat sensation. Anyone else experience something similar or have thoughts on why this is happening?
Thank you thank you!

I had been having the same type of swollen throat reaction and a feeling of a hair on the back of my tongue gag feeling
off and on for several years when I would dip or smoke analog cigs.
All that went away once I switched to ecigs with the exception of when I drip too much juice in my ecig and end up getting a mouth full. Are you getting non vaped e-juice in your mouth?

No I haven't been getting juice in my mouth. The lump feeling has kind of diminished but after vaping more than normal on Easter, my throat was so dry and somewhat sore. How do I determine if this is a reaction to PG or if it's just drying me out? I have gotten some 100%VG juice to try and see if it helps the problem, but it does not satisfy my throat hit need (I am trying hard not to smoke an analog, and that TH is what I am needing!). But I must say my throat doesn't bother me when I use the VG juice. So...is the process of getting that throat hit feeling what is bothering my throat, the PG in the juice, or just basic drying out?! So confused and am a little frustrated trying to find the best combo for me.
Thanks for reading and commenting, everyone!!

Could be:
-dehydration- I drink 1 1/2 litres water per day
-possible reaction to PG- if it is the PG then adjust accordingly- maybe 40/ 60 PG/ VG ratio or 30/ 70.
I've read some will drink water with fresh squeezed lemon- kinda washes the PG/ VG off the throat walls. Or gargle with mouthwash.
Good Luck.

Edit: if you need to thin the VG then PGA or distilled water will help but in small quantities.

As soon as I started buying vapes from PinkSpot that lump went away. I guess the pre-filled cartos mix of PG/VG had a strange reaction with me. Also, I think it was because I take Magnesium supplements.(you know that thick feeling after drinking a glass of milk) I found that when I get that feeling now if I drink something carbonated (ginger ale) it helps.

This is just my experience...When I was vaping a high PG level juice my throat was really sore and dry. I switched to a lower PG level and it hasn't happened since.

I like a combo of at least 50/50

I think the nic level also has a lot to do with throat hit. I started using 80pg/20vg 28mg nic juice. It was harsh at first, but I attribute that to my body getting used to vaping as after 4 days or so the harshness went away. The 28mg was too much for me (former 1pad smoker) I would get light headed and I couldn't vape as often as I would have liked. I am now on a 80pg/20vg 18mg juice and it is just fine, although the throat hit has diminished. I am still trying juices to find my all day vape. So I have ordered some 70/30 18mg nic and some 50/50 at both 18mg nic and 24mg nic.

When I first started, I had an odd feeling.. not quite a lump but almost a difficulty swallowing. That was on mostly PG mix. I stopped vaping for a bit after a while but recently started again, but knew that PG set my teeth on edge and had switched over to VG. This time around, using VG mix, I have not had that kind of throat irritation.. ( a little dryness occasionally but remedied by drinking more water). Your experience may be different but I'm almost certain what happened to me was because of a PG reaction.

If this is what is happening to me too, how do I get a decent throat hit with the VG juice? Just up my nic level, or maybe slowly try adding higher percentages of PG?

PG enhances flavor and TH. VG= vapor. May have to up your nicotine. What mg are you vaping? I vape a lower mg in the evening but add menthol for that little extra "kick".

Well I have one juice that I LOVE as far as flavor and throat hit, but it is the one that wrecked my throat over the weekend...it is 14mg of 60/40 (and does have mint in it, so that may be adding an extra TH kick, which i like, but my throat doesnt?!) Since then I have mostly been vaping 100% VG...throat feels fine, but it is really unsatisfying. I have some 12mg 50/50 of the juice I LOVE on the way, so who knows, maybe knocking back the nic and PG will smooth it out enough to calm my throat but still allow me to feel the TH. Otherwise it really may be an irritation from PG?

I tried mint and I found it harsh on my throat. You could buy some VG Vegetable Glycerine) from the pharmacy (in the first aid section). Make sure it's USP (Food Grade). Up here it's $6.00 for 250 ml.Take 10 drops of your harsh juice and add 2-3? drops of the VG and mix well- see how that works. Be sure to write down exactly what you're mixes are in case you find the sweet spot your next order can be that mix.
