Ok So I decided to try a few different clearos and see which one I liked best. I already had 2 mini pt2s and I ordered an Aspire ET-S, a Smoktech Aro pyrex, a Ruigu r280 and a couple of Vivi Nova clones from FT.
The Ruigu R280-2.8 ml Pyrex with aluminum shield, it has a metal drip tip and rebuild-able bottom coils and ego threads. I got the Ruigu two days ago and it's by far my least favorite of the tanks. It is very poorly designed IMO. Both ends will come off and it is very easy to fill/clean but the tank is sealed by pressure of both ends being screwed on. They thread into the aluminum shroud and there is no inner tube that holds the tank tight against the seals like in the Mini PT2. If you have juice in the tank and decide to open the bottom there is nothing keeping the juice in, so it leaks when you do this. The metal around the pyrex is rough on the edges of the cutout and basically feels very cheap. It also has a tendency to leak in my pocket. It does hit well and compares to my Evods in that dept. I would not buy another one.
Pros- inexpensive, vapes decent, you can take it completely apart, easy to fill, will take an evod coil. Cons- cheaply made, poorly finished aluminum shroud, leaks
Mini Protank2- 1.5 ml pyrex bottom coil with ego threads. Of course what else is there to say about the mini PT2? It has been reviewed to death. A solid well built little clearo, hits great and very easy to clean. It is a little hard to fill if you do not have a needle tip bottle or syringe. This was my favorite up to this point. Would buy again
Pros- Good Vape, easy to clean, comes completely apart, rebuild-able coils, pyrex coils are the cheapest available that I've found, great looking Cons- hard to fill with dropper style bottle the gurgling and consistency of hits
Aspire ET-S 3 ml pyrex with aluminum or stainless shroud metal drip tip, ego threads and dual bottom coils. Today I recieved the Aspire ET-S(dual bottom coil) it is obviously a new approach right off the bat. This one can be completely disassembled for cleaning. The coil is just a little metal stub with two holes punched into the sides. The wick is hidden inside. Open the bottom and fill just as you would the mini pt2. I let it sit for a few minutes and then slapped it onto my Ego-T upgrade and immediately the vape was smoootththhh. I mean SMOOOOOOOOOOTH! Did I say smooth? I tried everything I could and could not get this unit to gurgle at all. It just kept hitting perfectly all the time. I also have not had a single dry hit yet. Flavor was as good or better than the Mini PT2. Very nicely built little tank that holds I think about 3ml of Juice. This tank could definately change things for some of you. They do not appear to be rebuild-able. Overall I have to say this is the best clearo I have used to date. Oh one other thing about the Aspire, don't take the top off when it full like I did as it floods the coil. I forgot everything I knew about physics and I did this earlier. First hit was a mouthful of some very strongly flavored juice that I like as a vapor but not so much as food. It took me about 45 minutes to get the taste out of my mouth. Would purchase again
Pros- easy cleaning, great looking, consistant hit, no gurgling so far, excellent build quality, inexpensive. Cons- coils are a little more expensive, coils are not rebuildable
Smoktech Aro Pyrex- 2 ml I think it's much bigger than that. Pyrex with aluminum shield bottom coil fixed metal drip tip and ego threads. Initial thoughts are it is a clone of the Evod but made with pyrex but the resemblance ends there. This is one very well buil clearo. I have seen no other built with the attention to detail that this one has. The aluminum shroud around the pyrex is perfectly flush with the non removeable drip tip. The threads work nice, the finish is top notch. If you are a perfectionist and little things bother you then look at this tank. It always bothered me that the mini pt2 was a little sloppy in some respects. The threads were a little loose, if it wasn't screwed all the way doen it rocks on both of my Egos. It is the cleanest looking and the nicest feeling of all the bunch. This also has a really smooth hit and very clean taste. I would even say this has better flavor than the aspire. It does have a little gurgling but not as much as the protank 2 mini. All things being equal, I would have a hard time picking one over the other, but alas all things are not. The coils for the Aro are cheaper and they are rebuild-able. That alone would make me buy the Aro before the Aspire. But remember You might like the consistency afforded by having no gurgling like the Aspire. I haven't had enough time with them to say they will stay this way. If anything changes drastically I will let you know. Will purchase again.
Pros- easy cleaning, great looking, consistant hit, no gurgling so far, excellent build quality, inexpensive. Cons- cannot completely disassemble(minor, I know)
Mini Viv Nova clone from FT- 2.0 ml polycarbonate, top coil, removeable plastic drip tip, 510 threads. It's not really fair to compare this to the above but I have it and will include my thoughts. Ths is a $2.92 clone from fasttech it works better than I expected. I am not a fan of top coil as I find them harsh(so take my opinion with a grain of salt). If you want to have a bunch of tanks so you don't have to change out and clean them all of the time then try these out you can buy 5 of them for less than the cost of one of the above. The do work a lot better than I thought they would. Quality is not an issue. No leaking or anything, just not pretty. Parts are easy to find. I would buy them again.
Pros- inexpensive readily available don't have to worry as much about dropping easy to fill and clean 510 threads seem to be more common Cons- Not glass, ugly, 510 threads necessitate the use of beauty rings.
OK That's my thoughts feel free to correct me if I posted any factual errors and if our opinions differ so be it feel free to discuss that as well. I ain't scurred.
Happy vaping Day!
