Okay so I'm fairly new to vaping and bought a ce4-fast 1100mah battery starter kit have got on quite well so far, but am getting through the ce4 clearomizers quite often and getting a burning metal taste after a couple of days to a week I gather this is the coil getting dirty, and tried doing a clean and dryburn and it made it worse and since then have just chucked them after that, but I want to get a better atomizer with a bigger tank and a replaceable coil, but that will fit my current battery have tried looking around but a lot of sites don't seem to tell you what battery fittings the atomizers have. Please could someone help me. Thanks

Well there's an 80% chance you have an eGO battery with 510 threading. Many upgraded tanks (pyrex with replaceable coils) will fit your battery. However if you get "upgraded" coils (lower ohms....create more vapor), then you may want to upgrade your battery to a variable voltage version.

Suggestions for upgraded tanks from me are the Vivi Nova or the Kanger Genitank (it's like the Aerotank, which a lot of people like, but cheaper due to the finish)

I would suggest you try some of the BCC (Bottom-coil clearomizers) instead of ones like the CE4 (which is a top-coil clearomizer, or TCC).

Some good, simple BCC's:

EVOD
GS-H2
ProTank, Aerotank, Genitank

Slightly higher in price:
Aspire Nautilus

(Others....)

What to look for in a clearo:
1. Any 510 or ego threaded head should work on your battery (as long as it's not a low-resistance head, which will fit, but your battery won't be able to fire it).
2. A glass tank is preferable to a plastic one. Some juices will crack or degrade plastic tanks
3. A removable 510 drip-tip is usually preferable to a fixed tip. (I particularly don't like the fixed metal tips; I don't mind the plastic tips on the EVOD's or the GS-H2, and similar). With a removable tip, you can change it if you don't like the original one.

Welcome to ECF, Vape on!

I am with sparky, the new subtank namo and an ileaf 20 or 30. If your low on cash you have a couple decent choices.
1. If you like warmer vapes go with an mini Vivi nova or full vivi nova.
2. If you want cooler and capacity try the kanger pro tank mini or kanger geni mini.
3. Don't mind bigger tank with flavor get an aspire naut mini. Only 2ml but good.

Good recommendations so far. I think if you're on a tighter budget, it's worth mentioning this combination for a big step up in performance;

Eleaf Istick + Eleaf GS Air tank. The tank is $10 with coils being about $2 per. Most people are reporting using the coil for two to three weeks. That will vary a lot based on your vape habits, eliquid and a few other variables . I'm eagerly awaiting my Air tank, and have been very pleased with the istick at this price point.

Here's a fairly active thread on the Air tank if interested: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/clearomizers/642824-eleaf-gs-air-fan-19.html#post15182560

I've been spreading the news about the tank since I learned of it. I don't even have one yet, but the more of us giving it a try the more widespread actual user experience will be. For $10, I think it's a safe try. You're not out too much if the tank isn't for you....and you don't have to get into sub ohming and upgrading to 50+W devices.

I was about to travel down the sub ohm tank and higher mod road when I found this. Hoping this tank makes my little istick shine!

Whatever you choose , there's a lot of stuff out there right now that people are loving. Good luck in your search.

Okay my istick an gs air has arrived can someone give me a quick tutorial as to what I should set my wattage as and why.
Thanks

If it was me, I'd click it 3 times and put the iStick into Volts. I'd then start at 3.0v and gradually move up 3.2, 3.4, 3.6 etc.

Any harsh hits of burning tastes, dial it back. Then, I'd put it back into Watts and go from there.

The iStick readings are a bit messed up, so ignore the exact numbers and 'tune' to your taste. :)
