Knock, knock. Yes it’s me again back with yet another review for your reading pleasure. I’ve got quite a few on my plate right now so you’ll be seeing more of me soon. Today I’ll be discussing the voopoo vinci 2 and the Vinci X 2. I decided to include both in one review since they are very similar in appearance and operation. I was sent both devices for review by Voopoo and will do my best to provide a fair, honest, and hopefully informative review. Both are attractive and have a nice hand feel to them as well as using the same chip as other Voopoo devices that I’ve tested in the past. Let’s take a look at what you get in the kits and see if I can help you decide if you’d like to try one for yourself.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:
I know there were prior versions of both of the Vinci pod mods that I was sent for review but before now had never tried any of the Vinci devices. I have however reviewed and bought other Voopoo devices and liked them very much besides the occasional coil seeping liquid.
When I first opened the Vinci 2 and Vinci X 2 I thought both had a very nice appearance. I received the carbon fiber version of both. Both units have the Vinci name at the top of the display with the battery level indicator. Below that is the set wattage and the mode indicator. There are two modes Smart and RBA. I prefer the RBA mode but the Smart mode can be good for new users to prevent damaging new coils. Below that is the puff counter, coil resistance, voltage of current puff, and time of current puff and finally an arc indicator on the bottom that highlights more dots the longer the you fire the mod so is essentially a visual puff time indicator. There are two types of display to choose from which are Iron and Core. Iron is a vertical display while core is a horizontal display. All of this will seem very familiar to you if you have used other Voopoo devices like the Drag X, Drag X plus, etc. as it uses the Gene chip in both of the new Vinci pod mods.
Vinci 2 menu operation:
- Press the fire button five times to turn the device on and off
- Press the fire button three times to switch between the following ignition modes: (P) Press fire button only/ (Auto) Automatic draw only/ (A&P) Double ignition mode, press fire button or auto fire
- Press fire button and + button to lock the entire device
- Press fire button and – button to clear puff counter
- Press + and – button to choose between Smart and RBA modes as well as Iron and Core themes. Once selected, long press to return to return to main screen.
Vinci X 2 menu operation:
- Press fire button five times to turn device on and off
- Press the fire button and + button to lock the entire device
- Press the fire button and – button to clear puff counter
- Press the + and – button to choose between Smart and RBA modes as well as Iron and Core themes. Once selected, long press to return to the main screen.
- The Vinci X 2 does not offer Auto draw operation.
Facing the display side of the mod with the fire and + and – buttons, on the right side is the sliding airflow control lever that protrudes a bit and is very stiff to move on the units I received. I think it’s a good thing though since it isn’t moved accidentally. Near the bottom vertically is the Vinci name in raised letters. On the left side is the other side of the airflow opening. On the Vinci 2 the USB-C charging port is right beside that. On the Vinci 2 X the charging port is near the bottom of the mod. On the rear side of both units I received there is black carbon fiber with the Voopoo name running vertically and the Gene name horizontal on the bottom. On the very bottom of each mode is the CE rating and “Designed by Voopoo” and “Made in China” with no visible venting holes.

Vinci X 2
The pod for the Vinci 2 and Vinci X 2 are the same and interchangeable which I find very useful. The pods have a duck bill type mouthpiece which I have found very comfortable. The pods are clear which I simply love since it allows me to easily see the liquid level. I wish more manufacturers would follow suit and make their pods clear. Some I’ve tried, I’ve had to actually hold a flashlight up to them to see how much liquid is in them. There are four magnets on the bottom of the pods that hold them securely in place and I had no issue with them coming out accidentally.
The 6.5ml pods use the PNP series of coils that are used in many other devices made by Voopoo. The Vinci 2 included the .3 coil which is rated for 32-40 watts and also the .8 coil which is rated for 12-18 watts. I found both coils to have good flavor and vapor production. The .8 coil had considerably less airflow available and the auto draw function seemed to only work well with the airflow control about 80% closed. Since the Vinci 2 is only 50 watts maximum it is not compatible with all PNP coils.
The Vinci X 2 included the .3 coil rated for 32-40 watts but also included the .15 coil which is rated for 60-80 watts. The Vinci X 2 is compatible with all PNP coils. I ran the .15 coil for about 125 puffs before removing the pod to check it and found that the coil was seeping liquid from the center of the coil. After closer observation, I saw that the center pin of the coil was off centered and most likely why it was leaking. I’ll chalk that up to just getting a bad coil since I then installed the .3 coil and had no leaking with it. The pods are side fill with a rubber plug that sticks up just a little on one end that makes it easy to get a hold on to open it for filling. The fill hole is plenty big in my opinion and was easily able to fill with a 50ml bottle with no mess.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
I really ended up liking the Voopoo Vinci 2 and Vinci X 2. I thought both were very comfortable to hold and use. Having used other devices from Voopoo, the display and operation were very familiar. I like that Voopoo decided to go ahead and stay with the PNP coils for these units. It makes it easier in my opinion for users to add new devices to their arsenals without having to start over deciding and stocking up on new coils.
I was able to get about 200 puffs on the Vinci 2 with the 1500mah battery while running the .3 coil at 33 watts. I felt like that was fairly decent battery life. The Vinci X 2 uses an external 18650 battery so depending on which coil and battery used the results will vary. One thing I had almost forgotten about with the Gene chip is that it takes one click of the fire button to activate the device before you can fire and take a puff which I assume is a safety feature so the devices don’t get fired by accident. It kind of reminds me of how you can set the number of button presses needed before a dna color device is ready to fire.
So would I recommend the Voopoo Vinci 2 and Vinci X 2? I tend to lean towards units with replaceable batteries but I really enjoyed using both of these devices. So, yes I would recommend them and whether you prefer built in or external battery devices, there’s a Vinci for you. The Vinci 2 is maximum 50 watts with the built in battery while the Vinci X 2 is maximum 80 watts.
Thanks goes out to Chloe and Voopoo for sending the new Voopoo Vinci 2 and Vinci X 2. Also, as always, thank you to the readers for spending time listening to my thoughts. Below are links to the two Vinci pod mods if you’d like to look for yourself.
