Hello and welcome back for another vape review, today's review is on the Drag S2 Kit which is the little brother to the Drag X2 Kit I reviewed a few day's ago. Both of these kits are almost identical but for a few differences, on this Drag S2 a 2500mAh internal battery is used instead of the replaceable 18650 battery used on the Drag X2 plus the maximum power output is 60watts instead of 80watts with the X2. This is a bit smaller in size as well, both use the new pod though with A different preinstalled coil for the X2, There is also a MTL version of this kit. The differences are very minor ones for the X2 and S2 and both kits could have been done in 1 review but the manufacturer Voopoo requested 2 reviews so I will oblige.

What are the differences between DRAG S2 and DRAG X2,

Both DRAG S2 and DRAG X2 apply VOOPOO PnP X Platform. The main differences between them are as follows:

DRAG S2 is the device with included 2500mAh battery and 5-60 W power output.
DRAG X2 is a pod mod with single external 18650 battery (not included in the package). The power range is from 5W to 80W.

Cartridge： The standard cartridge for DRAG S2 DTL version is PnP X Cartridge DTL and the compatible coil resistance is 0.2ohm and 0.3ohm. The standard coils are PnP X 0.2ohm and PnP X 0.3ohm. It is recommended to choose the e-liquid with 50%-70% VG and whose nicotine content of no more than 35 mg. For the DRAG S2 MTL version (Only For Italy, France and Germany), the standard cartridge is PnP X Cartridge MTL with PnP X 510 DTL Drip Tip(Pre-installed) and PnP X 510 MTL Drip Tip(Replaceable) ( the wider one for DTL, the narrower and longer one for MTL and RDL) and the compatible resistance is 0.3ohm and 0.6ohm. The standard coils are PnP X 0.3ohm / PnP X 0.6ohm. It is recommended to choose the e-liquid with 50% VG and whose nicotine content of no more than 35 mg.

The standard cartridge for DRAG X2, PnP X Cartridge DTL , is the only one for the global and its compatible coil resistance is 0.15ohm and 0.3ohm. The standard coils are PnP X 0.15ohm and PnP X 0.3ohm. It is recommended to choose the e-liquid with 50%-70% VG and whose nicotine content of no more than 10 mg.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS


I you know me well you know my favorite color is Blue and that was the color Voopoo sent me and it's such a deep blue at the bottom that changes to a powder blue gradient midway up. The sides are identical except for DRAG S2 being embossed in the leather on one side with VOOPOO being printed very lightly on the metal frame.

On the flipside no embossing is done to the leather and Gene TT is lightly printed on the metal frame. The spine has a quilted appearance in the leather with 2 rows of stitching on either side.

Packaging is nicely done with the charge cord 2nd coil and user manual being in a White rectangular box sitting atop the device and pod.

The pod connects using 4 magnets that are fine but wish were stronger, with the winter months coming it concerns me that pod and device could be separated in a filled pocket. On the bottom of the preinstalled coil is a plastic sticker that must be removed before using.

Voopoo is using a bottom side fill method with the rubber plug again but the fill port is very large.

Voopoo is introducing a new pod with this kit and it's a top air version making it leak free. There is one downside some may not like and it's the drip tip which is fixed and can't be swapped out for one of your own, in the time I've used it I had no issue with comfort and it looks good also.

Various pictures of the device from all angles, it's for sure a nice looking device.

The front of the device has a large easy to read display screen with wattage being displayed in a very large font, all the other info fonts are of just the right size for squint free viewing. Information is laid out in a nice grid style and you also get battery % as well as a battery bar.

The menu system is so easy to operate using just a couple of button combinations

FINAL IMPRESSIONS


For me this sample that was sent has worked flawlessly, I only vape in wattage so having just wattage adjustments is great. The smart power mode is my go to mode on Voopoo devices that have it because it automatically sets the wattage at the lowest setting rated for the coil being used so mistakes of forgetting that your wattage is set to high for the coil being used.

The RBA mode bypasses the smart feature allowing you to set the wattage to the full 80 watts and the ECO mode reduces power slightly to preserve battery life.

Most of you know I like a warm vape and higher power settings so it should come to no surprise that the 02Ω coil is my preference but the 0.3Ω coil also pops with flavor just not as warm.

As far as the new Pod that is now top air I have to say it's a air machine strictly for DL vaping but if you close the airflow down to just less than a quarter open you can get a RDL vape and that's how I've used it during testing.

Voopoo claims a coil is good for 100mls of juice run through it but I can't substantiate that claim but will say that flavor is still popping after using about 40mls.

Overall I think the Drag S2 Kit is a winner and do recommend it. I would like to thank Voopoo for providing this kit for the purpose of my review and I'd like to thank all of you that read my reviews.
