VooPoo Drag Mini
I received this kit just under a week ago for a review. I do not have unboxing pictures, but here is what comes in the box:
- VooPoo DRAG mini
- Charging cable (little too short for my liking)
- Uforce T2 tank
- Replacement glass
- 2 Kanthal mesh coils (0.6 and 0.13-read at 0.11 ohm)
- Bag of replacement o-rings
- User manuals for both the tank and the Drag Mini
- Warranty card.
The Mod:
Subjectively, it has a beautiful look and a nice feel with no sharp edges. It is spec’d with a 4400 mAh battery and I have no ability to confirm nor deny that claim. As a low power vaper it easily lasts me a day to a day and a half (note: I have a couple units going throughout a day as I rotate flavors).
The buttons are nice and clicky, not loud clicky, but a good feel. The functions and menu are easy to access and move through. It is 5 clicks of the power button for on and off, 3 clicks to switch between mode options (Power, TC, FIT).
I wish I could say that I can give my opinion on all the features, but I cannot. There are 4 mode settings: FIT, Power, TC, and Custom. The FIT mode needs further explanation. The manual only tells how to get there, not what any of it means or does. I tried to use it, but without any understanding of it, it appeared to run way too high and hot for me on all 3 FIT options (at least with the 0.13 coil)
TC mode, I cannot give an opinion here either as I don’t use it. The only comment that I will make is that the manual is lacking information in this area to make this user friendly for new vapers. There is a function menu that one can access TC mode, Custom mode, Coil Cooling Value, and Coil Coefficient. For a vaper new to this, there is no explanation on any of these, say for a bit on Coil Coefficient. As a fairly experienced vaper, I’m not sure about the coil cooling value feature.
I don’t mean for this to come across as “knocking” the Drag Mini as I really am enjoying this device very much. For my vaping style, it is fabulous with a nice quick ramp up (no delay warming up that coil). I just wish that there was more information given about what this new chip can really do. I think it has some seriously great potential, if the user really understood how to utilize it to its fullest.
One last point that I will make before moving on to the tank; one change that I hope they address in a firmware update. When a new coil is used, the device defaults to an upper end (imo) power level. I think it would be beneficial for it to remember the last setting used and default to there with a new coil. As a low power vaper, 80W was a severe kick for me. That is where it defaulted to for both the 0.6 and 0.13 ohm coils. Shock factor if one isn’t paying attention.
The Uforce T2 Tank:
Okay, here is where I was very surprised. I am a devout Mouth to Lung vaper. I’ve tried the Direct to Lung style ONCE and just couldn’t handle it. Not the case with this tank with either coil. I was very apprehensive, but once I got the correct power setting for my liking, it was fabulous! Great flavor, Great vapor. The airflow adjustment is nice and smooth. It is a bit loud with it fully open, but not so much that it draws too much attention. At the more restricted end, not a single whistle no matter how far down I’d close it off. Filling? LOVE the top slide fill of this tank. There is a bit of resistance to slide open and closed. I pocket my devices many times throughout the day and not a single incident with the top sliding open nor any leaking from this tank. I prefer rebuildable tanks; however, this tank has been an exception. Loving these mesh drop in coils.
Finally, would I purchase this kit? Honestly, I probably would (especially if more details were given on the functions of this chip). Fabulous feel in my hand, Gorgeous pairing with the matching DT, and LOVE the tank. I don't mind the internal battery. Would prefer changeable, but for the mAh given in this unit, I can't really complain too much
If anything changes as I've had more time with this unit, I'll be sure to come back and update this thread.
