Anyone use vodka to cut their home brew? If so how much? Is it good for the flavoring? Is vodka the only alcohol that you can cut with? Just wondering. I use straight vg with pg based nic, so my stuff is really thick. I usually add a couple drops of diluted water to get the consistency I want, but vodka may be better. Any thoughts?

I use vodka at 2-4%. I would use PGA, but we apparently can't get that here in ohio.

Some will say to avoid inhaling alcohol because it is dangerous. When you inhale alcohol vapor, apparently it bypasses the liver. IMO, would be relevant if we were inhaling large amounts of alcohol, but say you use even pure alcohol at 2% in your liquid, and you vape 5 ml a day, you'd only be inhaling 100 ul (0.1 ml) of alcohol. If you use, for example, 150 proof alcohol, which is only 75% alcohol you'd be inhaling even less. Not an amount I'd worry about, but everyone makes their own decisions.

Does it affect the taste?

I have used 5% vodka with very thick VG juices in place of the usual 10-20% water. It works, and can even make flavors "pop" more. But I had to stop using it. 1. It dried me out like PG does. 2. I do not drink hardly at all, ever, and I found it did give a very low level buzz after hours of vaping. It takes VERY little inhaled alcohol to give a buzz. And yes, it is more toxic since inhalation bypasses liver metabolism.

I also read one report of someone that failed a DUI breathalizer test because there was they were vaping a juice thinned with ethanol. This does not seem unreasonable, but I have only heard of this happening once.

And some do need to, for legal or recovery reasons, not have any alcohol in their blood at all.

I use Absolut Vodka or Everclear at about 5% but that isn't necessary if using mostly PG though I use mostly VG. Most of the alcohol will probably evaporate when steeping buy letting it sit open for a day or in a warm water bath.

I don't know for sure, since I have not measured this, but I doubt this is true. Like PG, VG, and water, ethanol hydrogen bonds, and while some may evaporate, I think most will remain over time. Similar to the reason you cannot get higher than 95% ethanol when distilling from more dilute aqueous solutions: hydrogen bonding.
