Vladdin RE Kit - The best POD system?

A review by The Chuffing Vaper.

This is a review of the Vladdin RE Kit, which is a refillable POD style device and it also uses ceramic coils for a cleaner flavour. But how does it actually perform? Well, let's find out then shall we?

To keep my reviews short and tidy, images are at the bottom of the page.

The first thing to notice, other than it's the black/charcoal colour version that I have here, is the great user manual with colour pictures! Always a plus for me, although they are quite small pictures and it's difficult to read the writing if you have dodgy eyesight like myself. Otherwise, everything is fairly self explanatory although if you didn't read the manual, you might scratch your head wondering how to fill the pod tank with your e-liquid. This is not a bottom fill tank.

Pop the mouthpiece off and then you see the rubber bung which once removed, reveals 3 holes. Do not put your e-liquid down the centre hole! That's where the vapour comes out, so use either of the 2 outer holes only. The POD kit is designed for e-liquids that have nicotine salts but alas, I haven't got any left. Not to worry though as it will work just fine using regular e-liquids. I'm using a great tobacco flavour from Bestcigliquid called "Kenty" which is a Naturally Extracted Tobacco (NET for short). I did a review of this flavour which you can find here: Kenty.

Once filled, put the bung back in and replace the mouthpiece. Now, the tank can be fitted into the main battery section and after leaving the Pod system for 5-10 minutes to let the cotton soak up the e-liquid (otherwise known as priming the coil), we can begin vaping. Let's see what this can come up with.

Well, vaping on this Vladdin RE couldn't be any easier, with no buttons, no settings and no faffing. You just put the mouthpiece to your lips and inhale. It's got an automatic firing system that is very responsive indeed, producing vapour as soon as you begin the inhale. There's also a little LED light that comes on whilst you are vaping. Works a treat.

The flavour is actually surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because I've tried a few Pod systems before and they have not all been that great if I'm being honest. It's actually producing a really nice flavour, almost on par with the Aspire Nautilus tanks, which for a tiny Pod system is very impressive indeed. The draw or pull is nice and restrictive almost like drawing on a cigarette. This is known as a Mouth to Lung (or MTL) style of vaping, which is what most people coming from smoking will be used to. The vapour production is also very satisfactory, more than enough to enjoy the throat hit and yet subtle enough to vape at home or in an office etc.

All in all, this is a great kit and the fact it's refillable is a big plus too. This is easily the best Pod kit I've tried to date. Well done Vladdin!

Firstly, here's the box front and back, although not terribly exciting but it gives enough details I suppose.

Now lets open the box and see what we've got in here.

Look at that Micro USB cable, it's got springs! That's got to be the best USB cable I've ever seen included with any device.

A few more photos of the device and manual.

Got one of these but found a profound difference between the pod that came in the box and replacement pods. The first pod was excellent, but the replacement pods had such profound spitting problems they were effectively unusable.

That's worth thinking about for sure as I haven't used a replacement pod myself. That is strange though, perhaps just a bad batch? It would be a shame if they spoil a good product with poor quality control on their aftermarket pods. Thanks for the heads up though bombastinator.
