Hi there, I have a kgo and also was sold by the shop some vivi nova mini 2.0 clearomizers.

The clearomizers seem to not work at all. No cloud at all, hardly any hit. The atomizer that came with them works much better. Any idea why? I'm contemplating a mod setup and I'm wondering if I should go with one of these instead?

510 DCT Cartomizer Tank - Small

Wish I didn't waste the $12 a piece on these. They suck, or I'm not doing something right, or they are not designed for the voltage the Kgo provides.

I have a tank like this and do like it.
Please make sure to watch a Youtube video about how to prime the carto and fill the tank. If you do it wrong (like I did becasue I did not know better) You could do one or all the following:
1) Not priming the carto could cause you to ruin the carto and a tank of juice - causing a burnt flavor
2) Not inserting the carto correctly, by turning it not pushing it in, can cause the O-rings to leak which will cause your tank to leak and if your like me, you will be ready to hurl it across the room.

Rather new here and three weeks in to vaping, but from what I have read and experimented is it could be the atomizer head and the voltage your KGo puts out (not real familiar with the KGo so I apologize ahead of time). The VIVI nova comes with three different heads, each with a different ohm rating; 1.8, 2.4 and 2.8. Each is marked on the side of the head. If the KGo is putting out 3.7, you'll want to have the 1.8 head on the nova as the 2.4 and 2.8 will not perform at their potential with that low voltage. I currently have a VIVI Nova and a MINI VIVI (BOTH I LOVE!), both used on an EGO Twist with the 2.4 ohm heads with the voltage set at 4.2 typically. Great vapes! I have tried both tanks with the 2.4 heads on my basic EGO T, which puts out 3.7 typically and there is a huge decrease in the amount of vape.
My .02 cents

Sometimes it's just the luck of the draw -- quality control is not what one would hope for.

I bought a Mini Vivi Nova yesterday that simply would not wick properly regardless of the adjustments I made over the course of last night and this morning -- fyi there are a ton of threads available on how to "fix" the Vivi. Hoisted the white flag, finally just tossed the original head and replaced it with a new one (same resistance) and voila! it works just fine.

    Ok, showing my total newbiness, what makes the wicks different and what do they do different from each other, 1.8, 2.4, 2.8? :blush:

    The wick is the same, it's the coil wrapped around the wick that is different.
    Think of it like the faucet on your kitchen sink.
    1.8 = hot water on
    2.4 = hot & cold water on
    2.8 = cold water on.

    I cleaned the one out that wasn't working well. Just basically dried out the wick and put new liquid in it and it seems to work better. It had menthol in it previously and seemed real thick compared to the usa flavor I use with about 1/8 part of the menthol juice. I googled that tool and only found this.

    Says adaptor, not tool, but looks to be what your talking about. What if you used a little olive oil or butter on the orings, wouldn't that make installing a cart into the tank easier?

    I have almost the same tank, the only difference I can see it that mine came with a plastic drip tip and the carto read at 2.9 ohms. :510 SCT-V2 3.5ml Tank I like the tank a lot, but I'm not crazy about the replacement cartos I bought from them (the tank takes XL). I definitely suggest a "Slap Yo' Mama" for carto tanks. I can refill tanks faster with that tool than refilling side-screw tanks.

    Something else to consider, speaking of quality control, is that the Nova heads are notorious for not being at the resistance shown on the head. Every single 2.4 ohm head I have in rotation right now (seven of them) has tested at 2.8 ohms on my ProVari. I can only imagine what the 2.8 ohm heads would actually read. Probably 3.2 ohms or so. If the OP is using the 2.8 ohm head it is possible that, if the resistance is higher than that, the vapor production would suffer unless the voltage was set on the high end of the scale.

    The ones I have don't even say what ohms they are, unless they do on the inside. Can someone tell me if this is a 808 501 or 910
    I'm just trying to familarize myself with the different size cartomizers and atomizers.

    Sometimes the ohms are written along the top part of the post, just under the plastic cup. Now this probably isn't true for all heads, but in the ones that came with my original vivi kit, the lower resistance ones had shorter wicks.

    ETA: novas are 510, so if the nova fits on the battery and the atty in the picture is screwed in without an adapter, it would be a 510 too.

    Judging by the pic it appears you are using an eGO style battery. If that is the case, anything that screws into the smaller internally threaded area will be 510. Anything that screws onto the larger outside threads is an eGo connection, and there are not too many of those. Those designations are thread sizes, not the actual size of the cartos and attys. I know this can all be confusing but that is why you came to the best possible place for info.

    I got one recently also. My problem was that the battery connector is a bit floaty on the bottom piece. I had to remove it after it got tweaked putting it in my lavatube. Somehow the silicone gasket had moved and covered the side vent hole causing the draw to be nonexistant. It took me over an hour fiddling with it to get the nova to draw properly.

    Also, it may have just been my experience, but the nova burns through juice about three times as fast as my cartos. I heard it was a juice hog but this is ridiculous to burn through 6 ml of juice that costs about $1/ml. I am not impressed with it and in fact have ordered a kanger T3 which i hear is loads better.
