Hello again folks today's review is on a new device that is a upgrade from vaporesso's Sub Ohm Pod Kit the Target PM80 . This new device is called the Target PM80 SE and has a few upgrades to the already successful PM80, one of them and I think the biggest upgrade is it houses a replaceable 18650 battery. There are others but I'm getting a little ahead of myself before we get to know the Target PM80 SE's features a little more.

THE NEW TARGET PM80 SE STILL WORKS WITH A GTX RBA COIL

    EASY MENU SYSTEM

    * 3 clicks of the fire button locks and unlocks the device, adjustment buttons lock but you are still able to vape while the device is locked.
    * Pressing the fire and up button simultaneously will flip the screen position
    * Pressing the fire and down button simultaneously will show the chip version
    * Pressing both the up and down buttons simultaneously brings you to mode selection
    * Pressing either the up or down button in mode selection will move you to each mode
    * When you find the mode you want pressing the fire button will either ask you if you want that particular mode or place you in that mode automatically
    * This is a wattage or voltage only device, no temp control or TCR

    SMART VW MODE

I am a big fan of Vaporesso's Smart VW mode because many times in our busy lives we can forget when after installing a coil to turn down the wattage on the device so you can bed the coil in at a lower wattage, I've done it myself a few times. When in Smart Wattage mode the device will put you in the recommended wattage that is a wattage that will not burn up a new coil. Remember it's just a recommended wattage with a best wattage suggestion next to it in parentheses as in the 0.3Ω coil ( 32 - 45w ).

    AIRFLOW

The airflow system that Vaporesso uses with the Target PM80 SE is a group of holes in the Pod itself that can be plugged with rubber plugs that vary in size and come in a strip. There are 3 holes on each side of the Pod that can be plugged in any way you want because you can cut them to individual pieces or use a entire strip as I do.

As I said earlier the Target PM80 SE utilizes a single 18650 replaceable battery that is inserted from the bottom of the device by opening a battery door that when closed is very secure. I've tried hard to get it to fail but it held strong with no accidental opening.

The screen has also changed with the PM80 SE being a more narrow sharper screen that displays everything you need very sharp and clear.

Charging the device is done with a standard USB Port located at the bottom and on the side of the device.

The Pod itself is held in place with 2 very strong magnets that have never came apart from the device in the long time I was reviewing it.

Vaporesso was very kind enough to include almost the entire line of GTX Coils including the RBA Coil that included a couple of coils, cotton, spare o-ring and the famous blue screwdriver along with a user manual. I was able to use a 1.0Ω 2.5 mm MTL clapton coil.

    CONCLUSION

Alright folks I think I've given you all the info you need on the Vaporesso Target80 SE and now I'll tell you how it vapes. It vapes very well actually even though I'm not thrilled with the airflow system that is used, don't get me wrong it works and works well but I'm the type of vaper that changes vaping styles throughout the day from tight MTL in the morning to a restricted DL in the afternoon and a massive air vaper toward evening and I don't like having to carry around tiny rubber plugs that can easily be lost. I wish there was a more dedicated airflow system available on this device, like I said the rubber plugs work and work well but can be lost if changing airflow throughout the day.

As far as the coils go I enjoyed them all but had problems with the 0.6Ω changing ohms on me every time I pulled the pod off the device, the nice thing is I am a fan of the smart wattage mode and it would correct the wattage automatically so I only needed a small adjustment. After about 3 refills of the tank the coil settled down to a acceptable 0.62Ω and has remained at that reading.

All of the other coils performed well but my favorite is the 0.3Ω coil, rich flavor at 40-43 watts that always had me smiling, the other coils had good flavor also but the favorite was clear for me. Everyone vapes their own way and Vaporesso took care of that with the many choices of the GTX Coils.

As far as the RBA Coil goes Vaporesso needs to include some sort of male 510 that connects to the coil to not only make it easier to build on but also to get a Ω reading and a dry burn to get out the hot spots if using a contact build, using a spaced coil you can look down the drip tip for a visual on the coil while dry firing the coil, more steps needed than need to be.

I've been happy using the PM80 SE and will continue to use this handsome device, like I said earlier I love that it even matches my home decore.

I would like to thank Jessica and Vaporesso for providing the Target PM80 SE for review and I also hope I've helped anyone planning on picking up the Vaporesso Target PM80 SE.

    THANK YOU

Very Nice review Bob!!! I agree about the airflow system but very much like this device and am very happy not only with the stock coils but the rba also. One thing I noticed is that as the resistance of the coil goes up, the opening on the coil is smaller so in a way they are regulating the airflow by what resistance coil you are using.

Thanks and I agree with you but wish it had a dedicated airflow dial either on the coil itself or the pod . Like I said in the review it works but improvements should be made on the next device.

Well maybe they’ll listen and come out with a super special edition (PM80SSE)

Just ordered it, plus 2 extra pods and 2 RBA heads for just under $30 from sourcemore, only had the green or purple in stock, not doing purple, and not really into green, but doesn't look bad from pictures, so taking the gamble for that price, it's the vape that is important :)

I hear you on that, I'm a little goofy as the way I vape, mornings are a tight MTL, afternoons I start to open airflow up and by evening I'm full blown DL, stress of the job I guess. My only gripe is worrying about losing the little airflow plugs throughout my day.

The green looks wild, I like it. Reminds me of Tiger Camo.
