I received the "Gold Platinum" version of the GEN SE from Sourcemore. This small Mod with dimensions similar to those of a Pod is also quite ergonomic thanks to its well-connected design. The body is entirely made of metal, so it is very resistant. On the side there is the removable panel with the "Vaporesso" logo, the other panel instead bears the writing "Vaporesso".

In the image below you can see the bottom of the Mod with identifying logos and writings, there is also a recess to remove the panel and have access to the 18650 battery. The support base is large enough to keep this kit standing stably.

Gen SE uses a 18650 cell for power, and once the side panel is removed you can insert the battery into the appropriate slot following the polarity indications, the lace is useful to facilitate the extraction of the accumulator. The battery door of the Mod uses powerful magnets, the cover fits perfectly to the Mod without visual imperfections or abnormal movements. Inside the Gen SE Cover there is a protective coating with a label indicating the warnings for use.

On the back (handle) the decoration is absent, this part only highlights the smooth appearance of the metal, the grip is ergonomic and qualitative. On the front of Gen SE we find the color display that clearly shows the vaping data, it also allows you to select 3 different background themes. The display is clear and bright, also the numbers of the output power are really large and easy to read. At the bottom there is the USB type-c port equipped with 5V / 2A charging protocol. The control keys are precise and easily accessible; at the top there is the Fire button which is slightly protruding and circular in shape. Below the display we find the "+ and -" adjustment keys. On this device there is also the sliding button for quick lock / unlocking of the mod, useful when you want to safely store the kit in your pocket.

The mod uses the AXON chip from Vaporesso, which brings some fantastic features to the table. Pulse, Eco and F (t), VV, Smart.
• The Pulse mode gives you a little boost at the beginning of the draw.
• Eco aims to preserve battery life.
• F(t) ensures a more uniform vape throughout the vape.
• Voltage (VV) for those who love it old school.
• Smart mode that suggests the best wattage based on the resistance of your coil.
Furthermore, the chipset is equipped with all the safety features you would expect: overcharge protection, short circuit protection, low battery protection and much more.

The steel cup is located in the center, and is screwed to the mod via 3 torx screws. The pin is spring loaded, the thread is smooth and sliding. On the GEN SE Mod in addition to the iTank T tank, you can also install small aftermarket atomizers for MTL with a pleasant aesthetic result thanks to the small size of the Mod.

► Vaporesso iTank T:
The iTank T is the latest sub-ohm model from Vaporesso, on this tank a lot of attention has been paid to the design and its design. The tank holds a generous 6ml of e-liquid, or 3ml using the pre-installed straight glass. The top airflow design makes it leak-proof. One thing I really appreciate about the iTank T is its compatibility with all recent GTi coils.

The top cap is marked with a red dot that you can press to slide it out for easy filling, the generously sized filling port is protected by a rubber membrane. The airflow control on the iTank T deserves a special mention. It is smooth, easy to adjust and allows for precise control. You can set it to anything from a tight flavor draw to a generously airy draw.

I mainly noticed the good build quality of this tank which is solid and well finished and which is easily disassembled for cleaning. The base adopts an auto-circulation system of the electronic liquid, in practice the internal shape facilitates the recirculation of the condensation to vaporize it again, reducing the loss at the bottom. The base must be unscrewed and separated from the Tank to insert the Gti coils from the bottom. The coils can be a bit difficult to grasp when it's time to change them. You may need to use a small tool to help you pull them out.

► Vaporesso GEN SE Kit: Vaping Test and Final Conclusions:
Vaporesso provides with this tank two coils from the new GTi range, both suitable for DL vaping;

• GTi Mesh Coil 0.2Ω (60-75 W):
Using the Smart function, the Axon chipset sets the power of this resistance to 70W by default. Operation is very smooth even at 55W with a good activation speed. In order not to affect battery life too much, I found my weak point at 60W with AFC wide open! A beast of a coil that projects you into a world of dense clouds and excellent flavors. However, I expected these excellent performances because I have always considered Vaporesso as the company capable of designing the best pre-packaged coils in the entire sector.

• Gti Mesh Coil 0.4Ω (50-60W):
Using the Smart function, the Axon chipset sets the power of this resistor to 50W by default.
Compared to the previous one, this resistor provides a slightly more restricted and fresh vape, certainly less satisfying in terms of flavor. At 50W I found my "Best" in combination with an AFC opening of 3/4. In general, the 0.2Ω coil has an overall higher performance as it should be. However, the 0.4Ω resistor allows for longer battery life.

The Mod offers a short reaction time when you press the button. Furthermore, locking the device has never been so easy with the Uni-lock button. The magnetic battery door allows for quick cell replacement in a few seconds. The screen layout is widely modifiable with 3 nice dynamic backgrounds, furthermore it is rational and easy to navigate the menu displaying all the necessary information. The available settings are interesting. The smart mode is very useful for newbies, while the F(t) mode is my favorite and I think it adds quality and consistency to the flavor that the excellent iTank T manages to return. The GEN SE Kit is perfect for those who want a portable device without too many frills that still has brilliant performance. Also when you decide to use any MTL Tank you can count on the long autonomy of the external 18650 cell.

I agree, the 18650 cell allows for a really compact mod and the mod could be perfect with a matching aftermarket MTL atomizer.
