Hello folks and welcome back for today's review of a full sized kit for a change. vaporesso has released 2 full sized kits with one being a replaceable dual battery mod called the Armour Max and the other a single, today's review I'll be covering the single battery version called the Armour S. Both devices come with the iTank 2 that has a 5ml capacity with the smaller Armour S, the larger dual battery Armour Max's iTank capacity is 8ml. As the name implies ( ARMOUR ) this device is built to take a beating being built entirely of a TPU material ( Thermoplastic Polyurethane ). This device comes with all the bells and whistles with a solid performing Sub tank as well. After some product information from the manufacturer I'll give you my findings on this kit good bad or ugly and if it gets a winner rating. Lets get started shall we.

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Starting with packaging, this is regular long large box in a sleeve design having all components resting in their own designed spot on the plastic tray inside. A familiar long black rectangular cardboard envelope lays on top containing all paper material being your user manual, safety guide and a reminder card telling you how to lock/unlock the UNI-LOCK button and how to open the battery door which also uses a button. This is a very nice presentation of the kit..

I was sent the Silver color version that has a metal protective cage surrounding the glass tube of the iTank 2, I believe the other colors use a rubber protective cage. The protective cage can be removed if you wish to do so but I don't know why you would plus I think it adds to the attractive appearance of this mod/tank combo. Juice is easily seen with it's wide viewing slots.

When it comes to using your own 810 drip tips you will have to use one with O-rings on it as that's what's on the Sub Tank, it's comfortable and works well so big issue for me.

This Sub Tank uses the GTI coils that are some of the best flavor producing coils out there and all GTI coils are compatible with the iTank 2. These are simple PNP mesh coils without flat spots.

The last thing I'd like to cover with this tank is the top cap cap that opens by way of a button, the spring is really wound tight and opens like a switchblade knife 180° so be prepared for it.

Usually Sub Tanks have 2 fill ports letting 1 opening release air when filling but this one employs only one fill port that has a silicone rubber cover that prevents and spills and seals back up when the bottle tip is pulled out after filling. I've had no issues with this having only one fill port.

Getting to the Armour S mod that's not light by no means even being a single battery device because of all the strong TPU materials used in it's construction, it's built like a brick you know what.

Up top is the Uni-Lock fire button that slides up allowing it to be entirely locked from functioning, to bring it back working mode simply slide the Uni-Lock button down.

There is a unlocked/locked Padlock symbol under the Uni-Lock button at the top ang bottom of it's housing. Below the Uni-Lock fire button is the display screen with the up/down adjustment buttons below it, the USB-C charge port is below them making for a nice clean appearance.

Turning to the back of the device we find the battery door button that is also spring loaded and tightly wound as the tank. Vaporesso places a plastic sticker across it that needs to be removed.

Being that you can use either a 21700 battery or a 18650 with a supplied adapter is a nice bonus, the mod ships with the 18650 battery adapter preinstalled inside the mod . There is only one location showing correct battery placement, on the battery door is a - negative symbol.

As you can see in my pictures this is a thick mod with some heft to it, I really like that you are able to use up to a 28mm atomizer on it before overhang becomes present. There is ribbing throughout the device aiding your grip on it, Vaporesso has done a nice job on it's design.

I mentioned earlier that this was packed with features like 6 power modes with the smart coil feature as well. Although it is missing the round robin feature, but it's a fast scroller so that makes up for it, scrolling is done in 1 watt increments. Functions of the Armour S are very easy across the board, such as the menu system that I'll list below. I'll leave some pictures of the menu system also.

    MENU SYSTEM

    * On/Off - 5 Quick Presses Of The Fire Button

    * Lock/Unlock Adjustment Buttons - Press And Hold Both Simultaneously

    * Lock Entire Device - Slide Uni-Lock Fire Button Up

    * Enter Menu - Press The Fire Button 3 Times Quickly, Once In The Menu Press Either Adjustment Button To Move Through The Menu, Then Highlight It To Make Adjustments

Thanks for the well done review. Wonder how the Uni-Lock button will hold up over time though, seems like it could be a potential point of failure, sliding it up and down on a regular basis might weaken the mechanism eventually causing the fire button to break. What are your thoughts on that?

    FINAL IMPRESSIONS

I am very impressed with this combo of mod and tank, I've been using it for a couple week with zero issues to report. Upon hitting the fire button there is a immediate power transfer to the coil almost too immediate because when locking the Uni-Fire button if you don't just slide it it will fire the coil.

As most of you know I'm a big fan of the GTi coil series so I knew flavor would be great on both coils with my preference being the 0.2Ω mesh at 65 watts simply for a warmer vape.

The 2 airflow slots on this Sub Tank provide more than enough airflow, my personal setting is half closed which gives a nice RDL vape.

As far as temperature and voltage modes go I can't give you any thoughts on that because I only vape in wattage mode but in the Eco mode I did notice a tiny loss of power and I do mean tiny, great flavor was still there.

I don't know what Vaporesso does with it's Ft mode but it's always been my way to go when using one of their devices, flavor just seems to really pop using this mode.

So in a nutshell I do consider this kit a WINNER and highly recommend it if you are alright with a larger thicker device than most. If your in the construction trade as I am this kit is your ticket.

I would like to give you a COUPON CODE which is VASK if purchased at Sourcemore. Many thanks to Kavis and Sourcemore for providing the Armour S Kit for the purpose of my review. I would also like to thank all of you that read my reviews as well.

    THANK YOU

Thank you my friend and your concerns could be valid with the locking button also being the fire button.
