as a newbie this did cross my mind today, with a NON smoking gf and a 4 yr old son i NEVER smoke inside the house or around them. So the other night we got a film and i was vaping away while watching the film, first time since i live with my parents i smoked inside the house watching a film. Was a absolue delight to relax watch the film and vape away, So i thought to myself what about in a cinema, i know its legal and theres no laws against it, just checked my local cinema terms rules page etc, no mobile phones, no outside food drink etcetc all that normal stuff but nothing about e-cigs.

Would you class this as just a common sense place NOT to vape as there are other people around you and the vapour although odourless would still visually be annoying to those behind, whats your thoughts, and even better anybody that has vaped in a cinema.

Just stealth vape it.. take a drag, them breath in your nose. Hold it in for a few seconds, walla no vapor or hardly any vapor at all.

Kudos for calling it the cinema instead of the movies ha. Sometimes when I am going to watch tv I say I'm going to watch my stories like some elderly lady.

I've stealth vaped a lot while watching a movie full of people sitting next to strangers. The biggest thing is to hide the light, which is pretty easy on ego batteries. I hold it in but still blow out a bit of vapor. People may notice, but not say anything. I've gotten a couple looks, but it does not smell like smoke, and I don't look like a (MODERATED) so no worries. Lol. you'll be fine. I just recommend always using the term vaping instead of smoking. I had to fully explain what it was and what I was doing and why to my 10year old.

Just because you can do something doesn't always mean you should do something. I can now vape in places and situations where I could never have smoked, but I see no reason to flaunt it or push it. If I could sit through a 2 hour movie without a cigarette without running amok and killing everyone in the theater I can certainly go without vaping for 2 hours.

Take the necessary legal paperwork/general info on e-cigarettes, they can't really do much about it as its not against the rules (take in a copy) unless the manager is unreasonable, if he is then you should threaten him and say you will be making a complaint to head office and you will launch legal action and to shake him up even further ask him for his reference number, full name e.t.c. and give him dirty looks.

Or you could stealth vape.

i haven't had the chance to vape in a theatre quite yet. all the movies i've been to have been absolutely packed and i'm pretty sure it wouldn't be good etiquette. i'd be way more confident if there were at least more than a few seats empty on either side. and even then i would just blow it to the floor.
i have openly vaped in a mall recently and it was kinda weird, but i was in a pretty vacant area.
i dunno, one day i will vape in a theatre. it's bound to happen.

To each his own in this situation.. I'm on the extreme end. I vape everywhere, walmart, grocery store, etc. It's far easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.

The only responses I've gotten have been quizzical looks, or questions on what it is. So far nobody has ever said, hey buddy you can't do that here.

When I went to see dark night I had a giant soda finished it about half way thru and had the idea to stealth vape into the cup worked pretty well and just looked like it was thirsty as I was blowing the vapor into the cup. Dont think it would work for chain vaping but every now and then it worked fine.

I have been told not to vape at a couple of bars when smoking was first made illegal at bars in Michigan. The bartenders were worried. They had all been told to tell people to smoke outside. I can't blame them. If they allow smoking the bartenders and the management can get a large fine. Now it's changed and the bars are allowing people to vape, it just took a few people to let them know it's not smoke.

I think someone was doing it when i went to watch expendables 2 a couple days ago. The film projector "projection" (i dont know what to call it) was more visible than it usually is and was kind of annoying. But if you do sit in the back corner and minimize your vape (stealth vape) i'm sure it won't be a problem to anyone.

Don't vape where you can't smoke. That's my take on these situations.

I agree 95% :)

I agree because I don't vape where smoking would be unacceptable... Most of the time. I will use my workplace for example. I vape while on a bathroom break. Mostly because its the only time I am able to, but also because its "private".

Although I can understand how it would be enjoyable to vape while at the cinema, I would probably do the same as I do at work. Most people don't know the difference between vapor and smoke. I am all for educating people, but its rather difficult to inform an entire theater full of people! :)
