Hi Everyone! I'm super new here, but I just wanna get to my main question. So taking into consideration that I vape occasionally with 0mg nic ejuice, so you can assume I do it mainly for fun, entertainment, and social aspect of vaping. will this cause me to fail, alter, or negatively affect my drug test for a job? If so what can I do to pass it, any tips? As of this date my test is in 3 days. The reason why I'm asking this question is because of the fact I vape 0mg of nicotine and I really want to know if that will that put me in the safe zone on a drug test, since really that's the only bad ingredient w/ ejuice that I'm concerned with. you also might have guessed the fact that I was never a smoker.

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time and share their opinions, Greatly appreciated! :vapor:

I would make SURE I was vaping 0 nic. A nic testing kit is cheap. I had to use one once when I bought eliquid that seemed way too strong for me. (yeah, it was off a little bit).

I've used it to test my own DIY as well.

But yes, zero nic is zero nic.......all you are vaping is flavoring and pg/vg. That is not gonna flag on a test.

HAIR TESTING is another story.........that shows months of activity, and is being used by some in some industries.

E-liquid commonly contains one or more of the following: propylene glycol, glycerol (vegetable glycerin/glycerine), ethyl maltol (sweetener), sucralose (sweetener), ethanol (ethyl alcohol, thinning agent), distilled/purified water (thinning agent), natural and artificial flavors, natural tobacco extracts, and (often, though it seems not in your case) nicotine. It's doubtful that any of those are forbidden by local regulations or your employer's anti-drug policies, except perhaps the nicotine for insurance coverage, or something like that. Regardless, if you're not using any nicotine, then there's no reason you should test positive for it.

Good grief, just how common is it for job applications to involve a drug test?

Quite common. And I have an acquaintance that works in an industry related to the one I work in. They had on the order of 180 applicants for 30 positions; nearly two-thirds of those applicants were rejected because they failed the drug screening due to illegal substances.

And what sort of employer would bounce you for nicotine traces? That is all outrageous, if symptomatic of how personal freedoms are being destroyed in this age.

One that is looking to save money on insurance. And while some feel it is outrageous, I support it. Nicotine aside, if you don't have the ability to stay off of recreational pharmaceuticals long enough to pass a pre-employment drug screening, I don't want to work with you. :2c:

And as to nicotine, as bad as I feel about it, it's an employer's right to reject any candidate as long as they are not discriminating against a protected class. And nicotine users aren't a protected class.

Thank you to all of the helpful opinions, in case anyone who replied or just viewed this thread wanted an update, I did pass my drug test, but the results were not given back to me, i don't think company ever give them back to you. I really thought i failed because it took them about 3 weeks to give me a call back for orientation, or i could've been that i failed but they needed me anyways not sure. But either way by the time i got that call i already got a different position at a local retail store, hired me w/o a drug test! so funny how things worked out.
