My friend who owns the local vape shop brought me some info about the current vaping scene that he talked about when he was at the Vapexpo 2023 in Madrid,he also talked to a lot of reps from vape companies.

Well first of all the Vapexpo PLAGUED with stands for disposables, yeah other brands like Vaporesso,Voopoo,Uwell etc etc were there but basically it was all disposables.

He talked to some of the reps and the consensus is that even if new vapers switch from disposables to pod or mod/RTA or RDA (or anything else) the disposable fad isn't going away.

High % of their sales are from kids so as long as under/over aged kids keep on using them there are keep on making them.

Wish i could have gone to Vapexpo to record some videos for my Youtube channel but oh well, most of the Spanish vape reviewers were disappointed with the expo.

Couple of good stands with good none disposable devices like the one where my friend got that little mod he bought but apart from that it was a total let down.

Vape shop owners including my friend got together to have a chat and the consensus was the same, disposables taking over and its here to stay.
Kids want the nic buzz and by wanting that they are going to end up screwing the rest of us that need vaping so we don't go back to smoking.

Big time distributors of disposables and shops (any type of shops,24 hour shop like 7/11,bakery,gas stations) are also a negative factor in all this, they sell to anyone without caring if their under age or not.

I don't know folks,it's looking grim over here and the government will use all this disposable bs to screw us the ''normal'' vapers who need vaping so we can lead a healthier life.

cheers

In a way history tends to repeat itself.

Before WW1 most tobacco was smoked in pipes - then along came the War and Big Tobacco and cigarettes reigned supreme until health concerns started to introduce restrictions on smoking.

Cigarettes became so popular as they were simple, easy to use, widely available and needed no skill to smoke.

Disposable E Vapes are the new cigarettes ... and hey presto now we are looking at restrictions on vaping in general because of Disposables and the war cry is "Protect the Children - ban Vaping."

It's crap but that's the way it goes ....

When I started vaping in 2015, in Spain there was a Vape shop on every corner in Fuengirola and along came the carefully orchestrated campaign highlighting the dangers of popcorn lung and then the highly publicised reports of a woman who attended a vape demonstration who was immediately rushed to hospital with COPD, Rubber Teeth, Chronic Farteritis etc etc ( maybe even the Black Plague MK 11 ) ... and within months the Vape shops were gone, wented and the Tobacco Estancos were back big style.

Nothing to do with the Government losing tobacco revenues of course!!

Sure hope we don't get screwed here in Spain.

Every day i encounter stupid people in the street that know squat about vaping and still think they can lecture me.

Other day at the Estanco (tobacco shop) i was buying some lottery and they usually have a lady there giving free stuff when you buy a carton of cigs.
Asked me if i smoked and i said nope,i quit smoking almost 4 years ago and now i just vape.
She kinda gave me a bad look and made a moronic comment about the life altering mortal side effects of vaping, I turned around and ignored her.
No sense in wasting time on people with limited grey matter that believe all the propaganda they are being fed,it did make me a bit mad thou.

If the bill is passed everyone that makes a living thanks to vaping is royally screwed.
Last numbers i had were 400 shops/distribution centers and 3.000 workers (direct and indirect),all those shops and distribution centers closed, 3.000 workers without a job and worst of all we as vapers are getting the middle finger.

Only time will tell.

IMHO, if the Spanish government listens to, fully supports and follows recommendations from WHO (World Health Organization, Geneva) then you folks are royally screwed. Spain is a WHO member.

Other EU countries are clamping down on vaping. I think it's only a matter of time before most EU countries have strict vaping regulations.

If I may offer some advice, stock-up on 100mg nicotine. Stocking-up on nic will allow you to vape for years with DIY juices. Not sure about Spain, here in the US PG/VG are easily purchased. I don't see flavors (FA, CAP, TFA etc.) ever being regulated. VG/PG/flavors are used in many products.

Here is a calculator to help you determine how much nicotine you will need going forward.

Thanks for the advice buddy.

For now we are relatively safe but if the bill passes then the timer is on.
Vape shop owners and distributors have a 6 month period to present a ton of paperwork and then they are free to operate for a max of 5 years.
After the 5 years all vape shops and distribution companies have to close down.

Vaping wise not sure what will happen at that point.
My hypothesis is that they will sell the Nic at the Estancos (government tobacco shops, also sell lottery),and with that they will also include a heavy taxation.

VG/PG/Flavors will still be around and same for vaping devices, can't really tax those...they will aim for the jugular of Nicotine and use that to make their money.
