TFA's Vanilla Swirl is a dead ringer for soft-serve ice cream (it's Vanilla Bean Ice Cream that's had the 'inhalation risk' chemicals removed).

Mixing TFA's French Vanilla with their Vanilla Swirl (the French Vanilla is must richer/creamier) make a great ice cream. We mix them at 4%-5% each, depending on what we're adding to the "ice cream".

I made a vanilla swirl a couple days ago with nothing else added. Pretty yummm.

So the French Vanilla isn't on "the list"? I'll have to get some of that one. Was thinking about Vanilla Classic from FA, too.

French Vanilla is *much* more than a simple vanilla flavor like Vanilla Classic. It's wonderfully creamy and ice-cream-ish...and turns "soft serve" (Vanilla Swirl) into Hagen Daaz! :)

From the TFA product page:

French Vanilla Flavor

Water soluble.
Ttastes just like the ice cream!

This flavor does not contain any "Custard" ingredients

Ingredients: Artifical Flavor and Propylene Glycol

Flavor reviews

Jess B.
Very strong. When I did 10% flavoring, it tasted buttery and not pleasant to me. However, once I diluted it, it tasted much better. Reminds me of buttercream frosting.

this is the type of flavor I LOVE , it is very subtle vanilla flavor amazing for tobacco background note , personally I hate everything what smell vanilla, from the candles to the air spry .. but this one is my favorite

Elliria:
French Vanilla - This smells just like French Vanilla coffee creamer. This flavor changes depending on how strong you mix it. I recommend mixing it at no more than 5% with VG or PG. That way you will get a mild vanilla taste reminiscent of vanilla ice cream. If you mix it any stronger, it gets hints of a floral taste to it.

Kurt: French Vanilla: another great one! Very much like the vanilla of ice cream, and with sweet cream IS vanilla ice cream...fantastic! Been trying every vanilla I could find, and this one is the best so far. I will need to increase the concentration past 10% though, I think. My biggest concern about this one was the vanillin and coughing, but I get no coughing with this one or any of the others.

Nikki aka orion:
French Vanilla: Light clean vanilla taste. Great for when mixing and you don't want the vanilla to overpower another flavor

Here ya go - "the list": SPEC SHEET & COMPONENTS

'Just click on the word List to the far right of any flavor, to see the major chemicals & percentage (there are some that don't have the testing/updating completed). Or you can click on 'acetoin' or 'acetylpropionyl' anywhere you find it, to generate a list of the flavors containing the same.

I was sold on the TFA Vanilla Bean Ice Cream until I read the posts here and elsewhere. I'll give the Vanilla Swirl a try on my next order and maybe the French Vanilla too. I like the sweet creamy taste at times, though I found I like using Flavor West Sweet Cream for a lighter cream taste.
Thanks for the info.

Cliffs of Insanity, eh? (as in TPB?) then you2rcool!

Sorry, I cannot remember where I "lifted" this recipe. It is not my creation. But, I do want to offer thanks to a nameless vapor who posted this somewhere on the internet:

My first effort at a complex (to me) mixture turned out all right. My friends like it (maybe because it's free...)

Vanilla Ice Cream
PG/VG/Nic base of your choice. (I'm 50/50-1.2%)
•Vanilla Custard 5% TFA
•Vanilla Ice Cream 5% TFA
•Marshmallow 5% TFA
•Ethyl Maltol 2% TFA
•Dulce De Leche 1% TFA

Not bad immediately. Gets better with steeping.

TFA Vanilla Ice Cream? Vanilla Bean Ice Cream? French Vanilla? Vanilla Swirl? French Vanilla Deluxe?

'Looks like a great flavor combo (for those that don't mind inhaling the 'inhalation risk' chemicals).

But wow, 2% EM? Why would EM even be IN this recipe? None of those flavors need to be fuller or thicker, or have their 'sharp edges rounded off' - besides, the Marshmallow has that smothered & covered.

Anything over .5% EM lessens flavor intensity - and 2% EM'll not only knock it out substantially, but also can leave taste buds dulled for hours.

EM is not as sweet as any of the flavors above - so it's making the overall recipe LESS sweet.

Leave out the EM, and you'd probably be 'good to go' at 3% of less on the first three flavors - and the juice will likely "pop" a lot more!

Typical disclaimer: Of course (!) DIY however yourself wants to! What's good to you IS good. Our :2c: is just adding our experience & preference.
