I love my custards, but as much as I vape them it may be a good idea for me to begin looking at some alternatives. Small amounts of the ingredients that cause concern don't bother me much, but I haven't been using them in small amounts. I have been looking at TFA's Vanilla Bean Gelato and TFA's Vanilla Swirl. My understanding is both have a flavor similar to vanilla custard, but without the eggy custard notes. I've never tried either, but I'm interested in that richness that custards contain. So my question is, what have your experiences been with either flavor, and which would you say has the richest flavor?

I can say that vanilla swirl is a very "light" vanilla flavor, although I have just used it in low percentages to add a little "something" extra to a mix. Honestly, I don't think it would be a good alternative to the rich, creamy goodness of VC. I am in the same boat, I just use VC sparingly. I haven't tried gelato, so maybe someone else could speak on that.

I'm partial to vanilla flavors and have tried a lot of them including Grants Vanilla Custard which I found was average flavor and Custards Last Stand from Nicoticket which was very good. Then I came across blendsbybryce.com which carries mainly dessert juices and they have only about 10 flavors. I tried their Vanilla Crème Pudding and was completely blown away. The Vanilla Crème Pudding has a deep, rich intense flavor that defies adequate description. You have to vape it to understand just how good it is.
I ended up trying all of their flavors and all are delicious. I believe that a lot of the satisfaction with these juices is due to the fact that I use only Aspire BVC coils on the Nautilus and ET-S tanks. The BVC coils have brought me a whole new level of vaping satisfaction.
If you place an order with blendsbybryce, com request a sample of one of their other flavors and they will send you a 15ml bottle. Their Sweet Cinnamon Danish and Butterscotch Pudding are incredibly good.
Hope you give them a try....you will not be disappointed. I usually do not suggest this strongly but these juices are just that good.

I never tried to DIY custards myself, so have no clue.

Lots of folks would agree with you on these premades... but my experience was completely different with them. None of the 4 Bryce's I tried worked for me, nor did NT's CB or CLS, but GVC did. Have a 50ml in use and 300ml of it in cold storage... it's become one of my ADV's.

Taste is speculative... I've tried around 100 30ml bottles of hyped jooses that didn't work for me, but did find some mostly unknowns that did.

Vienna Cream from Flavour Art is a dark vanilla flavour but I only use it in mixes. Why are you trying to use something different than the vanilla custard? Are you just looking for a slight flavor change or are you concerned about it's ingredients?

I'm not concerned with smaller amounts of the custard ingredients, but I'm vaping almost nothing but custards whether that be vanilla or fruit custards. I've begun to notice at times an irritation in my throat after vaping some of these custards and I'm thinking that I may be getting a bit too much of them. I use nothing less than 70% VG so I know it isn't the PG irritating my throat. PG didn't irritate my throat at 50% either. I'm pretty new to the vaping world so I may be way off course, but when I switch over to something that has no custard ingredients, the irritation eventually goes away.

I'm not sure now where I picked this recipe up and I haven't tried it, but maybe it will help you.

“Safe” CAP Vanilla Custard V1 Replacement
6% TPA your favorite fruit
5% TPA Vanilla Bean Gelato
5% TPA French Vanilla Creme
2% TPA Brown Sugar Extra
3% TPA Cotton Candy

Hope that helps...

Hmm. Even at 30 PG, if I drip, it irritates my throat a little but my body is very sensitive. But yeah... Maybe try Flavour Art. The vienna cream is really good and similar to custard but different enough. I'm not super big on custards in general but like their custard for whatever reason. I like most of Flavour Art's flavors outside of their tobacco. For whatever reason I don't like any that I've tried tobacco wise.

Umm... capella has a vanilla custard v2. How has no one mentioned this???

V2 capella vanilla custard has no diacetyl, acetoin, acetyl propinol, NOTHING. I have been vaping it non-stop. Throw in some French Vanilla V2 (got rave reviews) and add a drop of Acetyl Pyrazine.

No crazy recipes. It's great by itself, captures the higher notes rather than the cream. Honestly I prefer v2 to v1. Zero throat irritation as well.

EDIT: Okay, after actually reading the OP I realize this might be a bit off-topic. Apologies. I have no experience with the flavors mentioned in the OP but I do love custards and I do recommend those flavors.
