Hello there fellow vaperinos :)

Time for another review of a vaping apparatus,i like using the word ''apparatus'' it makes me seem smart, cultured and intelligent...sure hope so :D:D

I received this kit from Sourcemore for the purpose of this review.

This time i am stepping on to uncharted territory,i am about to use/review my first squonk apparatus.

Even thou i have never squonked before hence never pumped a bottle in a mod i did own a pair of Reebok sneakers when i was a kid so i am highly confident in my ''pumping'' skills.

Ok time to get serious.

All contents of the kit displayed so you can see what you get when you purchase the Vandy Vape PR SE Kit:

(2 items missing from the picture, little baggie with 2 coils are incliuded and a small tool to help you lift the tab on the bottom cap when you are going to refill the squonk bottle)

Since this kit comes with the Pulse V2 Mod and the Requiem RDA i am going to do two separate reviews of each item but in the same post, will start with the Requiem RDA.

REQUIEM RDA.jpg

The Requiem RDA is an RDA designed by a fellow Spaniard ''El Mono Vapeador'' famous reviewer in Youtube here in Spain and in some countries of South/Central America.

Time to get a look of said RDA with some of its specifications:

Full look at the deck of the Requiem RDA:

The Requiem RDA comes with 3 different caps so you can use it in MTL/RDL or DL mode:

Here you can see it in all its glory on top of the Vandy Vape Pulse V2:

Package Contents:
1x Requiem RDA
1x Coil Guide 2,5mm
2x Fused Clapton Coil 2,5mm 0,26Ω
3x Caps air configuration
1x Accessory bag
1x User Manual

First impressions:

Tiny looking RDA but cute, adding the beauty ring it does give it a nice look.
Keep in mind it is a 22mm atty and it goes up to 24mm if you add the beauty ring (you can see the beauty ring in the last photo)

Removing the cap reveals the base which features some good ol' chunky flat top screws which makes it a breeze when it comes to installing the coils.

Setup (coil and wicking):

Truth be told i am a klutz...yeah you read right, usually takes me a long time to get the coil put in but in this case it was an easy task.

Same goes for the wicking, with new RDA/RTA i have to rewick a couple of times (at least) until i get it right...not in this case.
The wicking was flawless so after doing some pumping i was ready to give this bad boy a try.

Not a MTL vaper but to do a proper review i had to give it a try.
So i loaded up the bottle with some nic salts and started vaping...wow,very good flavor and a nice, nice i mean NICE hit.

But since i don't enjoy MTL that much take off the MTL cap and put in the RTL cap, kept the same nic salts and started.

Now this right here hit the spot...actually liked it so much i had to change the bottle and put in my usual none nic salt e-liquid at 4.5mg nic.
Filled the bottle all the way to the top and used it all day without even looking at my other everyday use atomizer.

The very next day when it was time for my first daily espresso and checking emails i decided to give the DL cap a try.

While it did give the ''true'' DL experience i didn't really enjoy it as much as the RDL cap, what can i say? I am more of a middle type of guy.
Somewhere between MTL and DL is my butter zone, that is where i truly enjoy my vaping experience.

With all 3 caps (MTL,RDL and DL) you can slighly adjust the airflow by rotating the outer ring but truth be told you can't really adjust that much.
If you really want to change lets say from DL to a more restricted vape you are better off just putting on the RDL cap.

Overall impressions:

Well made atomizer with a lot of versatility since you can just switch caps whenever you feel like it and change to whatever vaping style you are in the mood for.

Even thou i have never squonked there was no leaking...just one time and that was user error since i over pumped.

If you are a squonker and you're looking for a RDA with versatility that lets you switch vaping styles this is the RDA for you but if you're looking for a dripper i would recommend you look elsewhere, this atty just doesn't seem designed for that purpose.

Word of advice,if you have big chunky and sexy lips like mine the drip tip on the cap for DL mode will not work for you.
This was a major con for me,tried using it and when i went to puff i basically covered the airflow holes with my lips.
Doesn't seem like a big deal, you can just use another drip tip that is a bit taller but aesthetically wise the atty will lose its unique look.
The drip tip that comes with the DL cap is just way,way...way to low.

PROS:

- Three airflow caps included (MTL,RDL,DL)
- Easy to build coil wise
- Good flavor and cloud production
- Wicking is easy
- Nice luxury high end look and quality for a good and fair price

CONS:

- DL drip tip is way to low...people with big lips will have to change the drip tip for a taller one.
- Tight Airflow Ring
- Top cap too tight is very tight, even if you lubricate the rings and difficult to turn or remove.
- RDA is noisy and whistles when used with the DL cap,not a deal breaker for me but some might find it annoying.

Ok so half of the review is done, now i am only left with the review of the Pulse V2.

But i am so tired, need a small 5 second break and maybe have a cocktail

Now that i am fully recuperated it is time to tackle on the review of the Pulse V2.

First impressions:

First of all i have to say i am not a fan of plastic mods, rubber on the outside is ok (loved my JACKAROO) so i was a bit hesitant of this mod.

But once i had it in my hand i was put the ease, even thou i am not a fan of the material i did like the way it was made.

Well rounded edges and it fit nicely in my hand so nothing to worry about,i was ready to get started.

Pulse V2 Button Combinations

-Turn the Pulse V2 On or Off: Press the fire button 5 times.
-Change Modes: Press the fire button 3 times and then use the adjustment buttons to select your mode. Press the fire button to confirm your mode.
-Adjust settings in your current mode: Press the fire button 4 times.
-Enter the Menu: Hold the up and down adjustment buttons.
-Lock the mod: Hold the + adjustment button and fire button together.
-Flip the Screen: Hold the – adjustment button and fire button together.
-Stealth Mode: Hold both adjustment buttons and the fire button together.

My Requiem RDA was all primed and ready so it was time to try out the Pulse V2.
(atomizer size the Pulse V2 can fit up to a 26 mm atomizer without overhang)

I put in the 21700 Battery (Perhaps user error but i did scrape off some of the wrap on the battery)
Due to its bottom filling design the squonk bottle was filled with no hassle nor excess of liquid.
Screw in the cap and you ready to go.

First time squonker so i removed the top cap to see how much pumping i would need to keep the wick nice and wet.

Good feature (don't know if other squonk mods have it) is that once you release the pressure off the squonk bottle the excess of the e-liquid will go back in the bottle...awesome right?

I have used the Pulse V2 for about a week and haven't had any deal breaking issues.
It is a well designed and contructed squonking apparatus that does its job.

Was a bit worried about the panels but after a week of use i have to say i had no problems with them.
Magnets are strong and kept the panels in their place and well adjusted,no wobbly wibbly action with any of the 2 panels.

This device also has a TC mode but i haven't tested that since i have always been a vaper who just uses wattage mode.
So i can't really comment on the performance of TC mode.

Also this mod comes with a feature that lets you control certain aspects of your mod with an app called ''The Vandy App'' which you can find for Android and IPhone.

Since i don't own a smartphone i was unable to use this app but i have read a lot of other reviews and some people have used it with some conectivity problems.

If you are techy techy kinda person i guess this app is for you but for me personally it is just easier to use the mod itself to change for example the wattage i am using at the moment.

I was a bit afraid stepping my toes into the squonking scene since i never did it before but this mod just made my transition so much easier than i thought.

Pros:

-Water resistant and easy to clean
-You can swap the panels for customization
-Great build quality
-Nice compact size and lightweight
-Color and very bright screen

Cons:

- TC mode is not up to par
- Problems with app connectivity
(the above cons i have not experienced personally but i had heard from other reviewers, just thought i would post it as a disclaimer)

Would i recommend the Pulse V2?

Well for a newbie the answer would have to be most definitely,it was so easy to setup and get started with it that all my previous worries were just cast aside.

For a experienced squonker? well i can't really answer that question since this is the first time i tried a squonk mod.

If you are interested in purchasing this kit feel free to use this code supplied to me by the people of Sourcemore:
