So after 5 months of consistent use and a hard fall my VAMO finally broke, kind of. Its "loose" now where the battery holder meets the portion with the board. The outside tube that is pressure fit seems to pop loose on one side when I grasp it at different angles. Any advice on how to fix this internally with out ruining the cosmetics on the outide? I bought a j-wrap for it and when it dropped it even split that on one side. I tried putting it in a vice to fix it but that didn't do a thing. I thought of some type of glue or epoxy but I'm worried that would prevent conductivity.

Happened to me to good glue that works good with heat because we all know the vamo heats up thay are just manufactured by crimping them together also if your vamo ever reads 99 or 00 omhs with a atty on it tear out the old o ring that's around the centerpost replace with a number 60 plumbers Washer got mine ace hardware 52 cents alot of how to's on u tube good luck

There's also JB Weld as an epoxy. I know it's at HD. Maybe a little mixed up and around the inside of the top before you press-fit it back together.

Also, the center pin actually fits into a sleeve, the flanged top looks like an o-ring when it wears out and tears off. I had to fix one - took apart a 510-eGo adapter to get its sleeve to use.

This Vamo connection is just a press fit. You should be able to snap it back into place. I dropped mine and it came out a little on one side so that if you placed a straight edge on it you could see that it wasn't straight. I placed it on a counter with the "hump" side up and pushed down and it snapped right back into place.

I too snapped mine back in place and made a lanyard to help stop dropping the blasted thing. Mine came loose at the connection just below the start button. Since I could care less about the aesthetics I used some heavy duty duct tape all the way around the device from just below the start button down to the battery extension piece to hold it together - works great!

So I removed the jwrap and in the process it came completely apart. I took a pair of needle nose pliers and bent out the sides of the male piece to make a tiny but noticeable flange around the lip. I then worked the female side (the battery compartment) over the flanged piece until in was fully surrounding it. Next came the vice work to push it on evenly.

So far it's holding up great! I'm happy I did it this way vs using an epoxy because if it happens again I can just bend it out again. Hope this works for others in the future.
