Hello folks and welcome back, today 's review is on a Pod System that's a bit larger than most and houses a 1500mAh internal battery with a maximum wattage of 60 watts in boost mode. The Crown X Pod System is a dual device uwell says can vape RDL or MTL but in my opinion is designed for RDL because of the large mouthpiece, and that's not all that's large as the device has considerable girth to it. After some information from the manufacturer I'll give you my findings on the Crown X Pod System.

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Packaging is a simple slide out tray with all the components resting in their own spots, preinstalled is the 0.3Ω mesh coil (40-45w ) and the 2nd coil is also a mesh coil being 0.6Ω ( 20-25w ). This is a rather chunky device being very wide but surprisingly not heavy. As always I wanted a full charge before starting testing and plugging it in, the device lit up showing the device was charging with a bright colorful battery bar, before charging it was one bar short of a full charge but quickly reached full charge. when fully charged the word complete replaces charging. The fire button is completely flush with the display screen if you intend on using it for manual activation.

As most pod devices do the Crown X uses magnets to connect pod to device. Uwell places a plastic safety sticker across the coil contacts to prevent accidental firing during shipping so don't forget to remove it before using the first time. This is a pretty airy device getting air from 2 large feed slots.

Being a 5.3ml pod it hold a boatload of juice and Uwell wisely lightly tinted it for easy viewing of juice, they even put a minimum fill line on the pod that is about in the halfway spot of the pod.

I was really hoping this had a top fill but sadly it dose not, it uses the rubber plug that is side mounted. Filling the pod is easy because of the large opening and ability to rotate the plug to the side for larger tipped bottles, a arrow on the plug shows you to grab it on either side to open. I really think this is a RDL device strictly because of the large mouthpiece and bore size of it's opening.

Instead of rounded push in coils these coils have 2 flat spots that need to align with the ones on the pod when it's time to change out the coil for a fresh one, these coils are supposed to have a lifespan of 30 days of which I can't confirm but I've been using the Crown X for 2 and a half weeks and have noticed no real change in flavor which is impressive to say the least.

All the information you need is laid out nicely on a large bright a colorful display screen that is easy to see in any type of light including bright sunlight, all fonts and numbers are of the correct size so no squint is needed. You are able to fire the device in 3 ways which is mandatory in this day and age - Auto Draw Only, Auto Draw & Button or Button Activation & Auto Draw combined. The menu system is really simple with just a few button combinations.

    * 5 Quick Presses Of The Fire Button - On/Off

    * 2 Quick Presses Of The Fire Button - To Change Fire Modes Or Lock Entire Device

    * 3 Quick Presses Of The Fire Button To Adjust Wattage

    * 4 Quick Presses Of The Fire Button To Clear The Puff Counter

I wanted to show a size comparison with 2 other Uwell devices that are in my daily rotation, as you can see this is a very chunky device that fits the hand really well. I have only one con that is really a preference and it's the filling method, I wish it had top fill instead of the rubber plug.

    FINAL IMPRESSIONS

I think this device is for RDL users not MTL users, you can vape it in MTL mode by closing down the side mounted airflow slider but it's not a comfortable vape because of the mouthpiece size.

Flavor is fantastic and a whole lot of vapor as well. A larger battery would have been nice but I'm really nit picking now, it only takes about 1 hour to charge having 2A charging. The Crown X has a very solid build feel to it and is a attractive device with the gradient colors.

I have had zero issues in long time of testing this device and give it a 100% recommendation. Having many nice features including round robin with a simple menu system make this a device I'll keep using even though the review is over.

I would like to thank Kavis and Sourcemore for providing the Crown X from Uwell for the purpose of my review, I also would like to thank all of you that read my reviews. If you purchase the Crown X from Sourcemore use this CODE CXK which will bring the price down to $25.49.

    OK, let's get real here.
I'll throw in some comparisons with my Luxe XR Max, (last device I bought)

    Pro's:
Capacity and juice window. That's it.

    Con's:
Build quality is garbage next to the Luxe
Everything about it feels cheap. The rounded corners on the bottom barely stands up by itself.
The cheap aluminum housing. The cheap button with no real perceptible texture.
The rubber fill cover is super thin and falls out completely.

Battery cannot possibly be a 1,500 mAH . It is way too light.
At 40W with the .3, the battery is completely dead well before the tank is empty. That basically proves their exaggeration of battery size.

Auto draw is weaker than using the button.

Lack of a real menu. 2 clicks to lock, etc. makes it too easy to change your setup.

Uwell phoned it in on this device. I'll think twice before ordering another Uwell product.

Some of the points listed above should've been brought out in this review, but I guess for free product, you don't dare bite the hand that feeds you.....

It's obvious you really don't like the Crown X Pod from Uwell and that's fine but for me the device works just fine, as far as the battery inside I don't have the equipment to actually check what it is I can only go on their word which many manufacturers inflate.

My review wasn't a comparison between it and the Luxe either. As far as standing upright goes I normally lay any light pod device down so they don't fall over having my desk or table bumped or nudged, I could care less if they stand or lay flat.

As far as your completely false comment of don't feed the hand that feeds you is way out of line and for that I take offence, there are many pod devices that are better but I don't compare devices in my reviews generally. My opinions in my reviews are just that (opinions)

The reason it's so lightweight is as you say aluminum which isn't a con. The auto draw worked fine for me. The flavor was really good as most Uwell coils and pods usually produce really good flavor. It's obvious you don't care for it and besides no menu system is because it's a simple device.

    Somewhere between here and there
I have tested the Luxe XR max but haven’t tried the crown x. However, if you compare the two, the luxe is rated at 2800mah while the crown is rated for 1500. To me, those two aren’t even in the same category as far as output capacity. The luxe xr with 1500mah would be more similar. The luxe xr max is a much larger device.
