Quick question....my glass broke on one of my tanks and has an ultem replacement. My concern is it cracking. Will using an ultem tank with "tank cracking juices" yield the same result as polycarbonate? Or can I use any juice with ultem? I just don't want to even use the ultem of juice has a potential to degrade the material. Thanks in advance.

Well....there's ultem and there's tanks that look like ultem. It's my understanding that real ultem can hang with tank crackers but I have no first hand experience. Ultem-like tanks will crack. I don't use tank crackers but that's never stopped me from pretending that I know all.

That's what I've seen from research although I gathered my answer from reasoning. I never received a straight answer anywhere. The product description states it is ULTEM. So I'm just gonna assume it is. I'll give it a shot and update in a week or so. I just don't want to be out and about and have it break on me. Then I'll be ....... Take a look at the link of you don't mind and tell me if you would assume the tank is ultem.

Welcome A Lee. If you can confirm the tube is real ultem you should be good.
Thank you. I tried to post the link but it didn't work. It is the pyro by vandy vape. Vapordna has a product parts description and says it's ultem but it says it is ultem glass. Idk what that means. Is it safe to assume it's ultem?

I wouldn't assume. Check the authenticity code and if it is authentic I would shoot Vandy Vape an email.

Welcome and glad you joined.
I'm familiar with Ultem, mainly to it's heat/thermal resistant characteristics. To receive definitive information, might want to talk to a plastic materials engineer about your concerns regarding Ultem's chemical resistance capabilities when compared to other thermoplastics. GE material engineers may be able to comment on specific chemical capabilities regarding Ultem's performance with regards to total immersion.
"Or can I use any juice with ultem? " Plastics as a material class, perform poorly when compared to silica/glass based materials in total immersion (ie. IMO not recommended).

Well I'm speechless. I'll just call you professor bob lol. Thanks for the welcome. I looked at the chart and can assume citric acid is what I need to be worried about but judging from their tests the rating it received was superb. So I guess I'll see how long it takes for those few percentages points it's missing decide to show up as leaking juice lol. Your advice was super helpful.
