It just started doing this. I hadn't used it in a few months because I was using ego style batteries exclusively.
And well I went to charge some 18650's for a new mod and noticed a high pitched hissing sound coming from the charger.
It unnerved me and I quickly unplugged it. Does anyone know if it's dangerous to charge batteries on this thing now? I don't want to ruin the batteries or have one explode or something.
I'm not really sure at this point if it's the batteries or the charger that is causing it. Old batteries I guess. Gonna buy a new one and see if the sound persists.
Anyone got some :2c: on this?

Trustfire has notoriety for being a faulty product?
Hmmm...I think that might be all I needed to hear.
What brand are you rockin if you don't mind me asking?

oh nevermind, the replies on that thread are saying that it's normal and just an annoyance not a serious issue or potentially hazardous like I thought.

I remember having this issue a couple years ago on a Trustfire Tr001. It was explained to me at the time that it was a transformer inside that wasn't anchored properly, allowing it to vibrate and causing that noise. It seemed to do it the loudest when the batteries I was charging were just put on charge and diminished in volume/intensity as the batteries approached fully charged

Even though several people told me it was normal and not to worry, I still didn't feel comfortable with it and upgraded to a better quality charger shortly after

Personally (and I've shared this opinion before) I believe that your battery charger is one of the most important pieces of vaping gear you can buy, the one that is worth not skimping on. The more I've learned over the years, the more that opinion has been reinforced in my mind :) That's just my :2c:
