Hello All!

I have a question regarding the (real) Trident rda. I purchased the Grand Vapor Clone at a local shop and it was terrible. The cap screws (for the contact posts) were worthless and stripped and one negative post just spun in the deck and was un-usable. The shop wouldn't do anything about it because they said I could have caused it through "misuse"...

What's the quality of the real Trident like? Are the cap screws any good? If you have one, how long has it lasted and is it still working?

Sounds like your local B&M are buying low and selling for what ever traffic will bear... a typical short term (and vision) business model.

Buying from (some) B&Ms can really skew pricing comparisons. The B&Ms that gouge you $25~$35 for a RDA that on-line vendors sell for $13, makes you think you're getting a premium piece, especially if the item has no brand (I'm assuming this, as you don't state it), when you're actually getting the crappiest quality there is.

There are several Trident clones - from pure junk, which is apparently what you got, to very good quality... to the genuine GV product. I have a GV V1 Trident and EhPro Tridents V1 & 2. The oldest, both the V1s, bought late September of last year, are both used about equally and both still in near mint condition. Yes, the genuine GV RDA is nicer finished, but for the extra $60, it certainly should be.

My suggestion. Maybe buy your juice local, maybe even some real name brand name stuff... but do a bit of price shopping on line before hand - and stay away from items where there are potentially 27 different clones, with 24 of them being garbage.

If you want to take my word for it - Pick up a EhPro V2... from someone like Discountvapes for $20 - you'll be glad you did. While you're looking around, take a look at the EhPro Helios and Atomic RDAs as well.
