Trident issues

Im having some issues with my brand new Trident. I currently own another Trident so Im somewhat experienced with this atty. But this new one is giving me issues. When I try to pull the top cap off with the drip tip the drip tip pulls out with out the top cap, extremely annoying. I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue and what you did to correct it. Also I was building a wick and coil on it for the first time last night and I popped 6 coils in a row! That has never happened to me before. So again I was wondering if anyone has had that issue. I just bought a trident (not the clone) the other day and im having the opposite issue. The O rings on both the bottom and the top is too good that it's kind of annoying. I have to wiggle the middle piece with the bottom attached to my mod to get access for changing wicks. And for the top piece i have to push it out from the inside after the bottom piece is off. My top piece is so tight that i can't rotate the airholes, so i need to take it all apart to change the size.

EDIT: I misunderstood. Ya i guess im having the same issue as you are.

dont think its an issue with the trident, but with the orings itself. Also I'm going to assume your popping coils because there is a short somewhere on the coil. Ive popped a few coils from pulsing after the build but that was due to a short.

i just got a brand new Trident this week ( first time owner ) and i thought the tight Oring thing was normal?

In order to drip, I pop off my drip tip and have to blind drip into it. Its a PITA trying to turn the cap to adjust which airhole i want.. I cant even get either of the 2 caps off without a struggle.. I have to sit there with my finger nails and wiggle it off a real pain. I know Orings need to break in but damn!

When i received it i couldnt even get the damn thing apart! I almost had to take a pair of plyers! After about a half hour and using some rubber gloves to get a tight grip i finally got the damn thing apart.. lol

I sure there Orings break in and it loosens up.

I got my Trident from the Philippines, and it came with a broken O ring. I just went to the hardware store, and matched the best I could find. It's slighty smaller, but a hell of a lot easier to get on and off.

I read that putting juice around the o-rings on the drip tip will make the drip tip adhere to the top cap making it easier to pull the to cap off. I'll have to try it as soon as I can figure out how to get the to cap off lol

LOL Try adding some juice in it now. Then wiggle back and forth, by placing a jewelers flat screwdriver in between the separation.

The small screw driver worked perfectly but you have to do this very carefully so you it doesn't slip out and scratch it. The Trident I got about 5 months ago never had this issue. I really hope this one breaks in soon because its irritating not to be able to switch the air ports when I want to.

I hear you man. I've had mine since June, and it's still a biatch to remove.

i just took mine apart to add a new wick and took all the Orings off...

What i did was just rub a little juice in the slots that the Orings seat into ( on the bottom deck ) I left both Orings in place and now its much easier to take off. Still a little tough BUT much easier. Really the only time i need the bottom ring off is when i am adding a new wick or coil..

As for the top cap, I removed the top ring and left the bottom ring in place.. NOW it works perfectly! It pops off when i pull on the drip tip and i dont need to spend a half hour trying to turn the top cap to the desired airholes now, I can just hold the bottom sleeve and twist the drip tip.. Works perfect now.

I am sure once these Orings break in that it will be fine. As of now, its MUCH better then it was when i got it.

Hell, Even trying to get the Orings themselves off was a PITA.

Remove the Orings, lube up the slots they seat in with some juice and only remove the TOP ring from the top cap and all should be good!

For mine I had to find the right "balance" with the o-rings. The seal from having 2 o-rings on the top and 2 on the bottom was just ridiculous. I found the perfect balance by having 2 on the bottom cap, but only the higher one on the top cap. Now the top cap pops on and off easily while the bottom remains snug. I can also turn it to line up the airflow holes perfectly. My girlfriend also has a trident and the right balance for hers was 2 on the bottom and the 1 lower ring on the top. Just play with the arrangement of the o-rings to find what works with your rda.

Also a great tool for removing the o-rings is a dental pick you can get at Taeget or CVS. It's also great for separating coils when you build
