So my friend just gave me a few cartridges filled with oil. I don't currently have a vape pen to use them with. I have ordered an o2vape pen...however it will not show up for several days.

I would like to start using these cartridges asap. After doing some research, they appear to be 510 threaded with a nice tip on them. Can I buy a cheap "ecig" at a gas station and attach my cartridge to it?

This would only be used for a couple days so I would like a cheap ecig if possible. I guess I just a "battery" if that is the correct terminology since I already have the prefilled cartridge.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Welcome and glad you joined. The term "oil" is not a term used. Better to say e-liquid or juice.

Good choice. That's how I began.

Not sure here. Never bought one so someone will probably come along and help here. My guess is no.

For using the "carts" (Cartridges) right away, you could march down to your local brick and mortar vape shop and have them recommend a battery (two batteries are better than one). I'm not familiar with an o2vape pen, but your B&M vape shop will tell what resistance your carts are and what battery/settings/how to use to get started. Just tell them everything and they should be able to see what your after. Youtube has some "how to's" with cartridges.
Recommend to stick with the carts to start and see if you like vaping. Tanks are a little tricky to start out with. If you go with tanks, you will need to do quite a bit of reading or have some personal help just starting.

The problem with "cigalikes", or vape pens setups like you have, is the connectors are not universal between different brands. Some are 510, some are 808, and some are proprietary which fit neither the 510/808.

So, there's no way anyone can answer your question without knowing exactly what brand gear you have.

From the 02vape.com site: o2Vape oil Cartridges are compatible with any 510 thread vape pen.

Having said that, while any 510 threaded battery would power them up, you probably do not want to throw more than 3.8 to 4.2 volts at them or you risk the coils element burning out like a light bulb filament, or simply a burnt taste if powered too high. Most of the gas station items would LIKELY fall into this category.

While any 510 threaded battery should work, I could not say what your local gas station has in stock so that may or may not be using a 510 threaded connection. If you have any doubts try visiting a brick and mortar vape store and take one of your carts with you rather than visiting the local convenience store. Unless of course they are pre-filled with a certain herbal oil and it is not legal in your state :p

Thanks everyone....i ended up getting a Kanger evod 650mAh battery and it works great. A local shop had it for $15 and I am very pleased. I will eventually upgrade but this is perfect for now.
Good choice!! The B&M do a good job sometimes. Sounds like the one you went to is a good one. Thought you would be pleased.
So many folks start out with tanks, sub ohm at that, that they are not technically inclined to make vaping a satisfying experience from the get go. Keep it simple first and then see where you think you might want to progress in vaping.
