Sadly my fabulous Tesla mod is no more.
I tried to fix a short that had been an intermittent fault through the fire button and killed it.
I managed to get the top off of it by heating the triangulated top cap and the tapping it off with a thinly bladed screwdriver and small pin hammer. I got down to the double layered pcb and found the problem with the fire button which was touching another connection and shorting.
The fire button was soldered from beneath the sandwiched boards so i had to try and separate the two boards. the two boards were soldered together at opposite corners and i managed to get these separated but the fire button didn't have an obvious soldering point. It looked like that it was made by a robot so i gave up...........

Anyway.... I'm now looking for a new mod and have been looking at the double barreled vamo

and also the Vamo E huge 35W
2nd Generation E-HUGE 35W - GENUINE KSD E-Huge 26650 E Huge VAMO V5 Based 2014 | eBay

I'm also toying with the idea of making one of these but my soldering skills are a bit crap

So there we are:
I'm looking for something a bit different that is VV/power can handle 0.5 - 5.0 ohms and doesn't cost an arm and a leg. As you can see around about £50-75 is my budget. Your suggestions are most welcome

ended up buying the e huge and and happy with it's performance. The protanks that i had been using were looking a bit lost on top of the mod so plumbed for the Kayfun 3.1 which I'm just starting to get used to. Problems with leaking and or filling the Kayfun mainly but the taste is out of this world. Vapor production is on a par with the protanks

Sorry for your loss. And I feel your pain - those fire buttons on a Tesla are absolute crap. Mine lasted all of 90 days. I thought about taking it apart but from what I could determine all you could do, at best, was replace it with another absolute crap switch. Microswitches that one would use on the front panel of a DVD player - the kind you never actually use - aren't built for vape gear.

Makes a lovely paperweight.

The switches in the 18650 VAMO's are a lot more robust. Don't know what they are using in the more recent models like you got but I'm hoping they haven't dumbed down the fire switch.

From what i can tell the top part is a V5 Vamo with the same buttons etc.it's caged on top of a 26650 battery compartment. making it 8mm wider in diameter than a standard Vamo.
They have put a much more substantial 510 connecter to match up the bottom section.
Then they have added strengthening bars between the two sections.
I like the 510 connecter on this mod as you just screw the device that you are using till makes contact then screw up the collar to tighten it all down. There is also a screw adjustment in the 510 so you can use virtually any device on top of the E-Huge.
All in all a pretty substantial bit of kit capable of delivering 35W if necessary.
Been using it for a couple of weeks now with the Kayfun and am pretty chuffed with my purchase.
It certainly is a conversation piece at the dinner table and you can even power a mobile phone from it's awesome power pack ( I don't do this though).
You can also buy an extension tube (as with the Vamo)to stack two 26650 batteries. Enough power to constantly vape for a week. So ideal for those of you out on the road for extended stopovers.
Sorry for turning this thread into a bit of a review
