I picked up a smok AL 85 after my Innokin TC100 died. I'm using a OBS Engine Nano, single coil, SS316L Triple Core Fused Clapton, reading at about 0.35 ohms. The build works very well on my other mod in TC (HohmSlice). With the smok I am getting absolutely no vapor production at all at the standard SS tcr .00092, 60 watt ramp, and 420*F. In fact, if I hold the fire button down for more than about 1 second it tells me it's temp protecting but it's not even getting hot enough for me to hear the coil firing. Any idea what I can do to make this thing work?

Don't quote me on this, but I think I've heard many having problems with TC Mode with SS wire on the AL85, the best solution is to go into the manual TCR settings and adjust the TCR for the wire to a new figure. Beyond that, you are probably best to keep the HohmSlice for TC mode use and the AL85 for standard wattage mode.

Try taking the TCR to 130

I don't understand temp control very well but wouldn't doing that defeat the purpose of TC to begin with?

Also, I've noticed that for some reason once every 10-12 pulls it will hit like a mule. In other words, I will get close to zero vapor for 10 pulls and then randomly get one pull that seems like it's hitting at 500 watts, then back to nothing. I have to say, I've owned quite a few mods and never had this issue, this thing is really pissing me off. :-x:evil:

Anybody want to buy a silver al85 that blows in tc mode lol.

And thus in lies why I do not own "ANY" Smok Mods, but then again I research thoroughly before even purchase, even if I have to wait 6 or so months down the road after initial release to gather enough sufficient data to say yay or nay, thus due to all types of issues, not one Smok mod in my collection.

Morale of the story, research before spending coin.
