Tasting eliquid on my lips, is nicotine being absorbed in this area?

I keep thinking I can taste the eliquid on my lips, I first got worried when I accidentally had my ecig upside down for a while and when I went to use it I swear I got some eliquid on my lips. Since then I keep thinking I can taste it on my lips and I am worried that I am absorbing nicotine there. Is this so? Does some of the eliquid find it's way up the inside of the bit you pull on when taking a puff?

I'm sure some nicotine can be absorbed through the skin, but it would be minimal. If it were in large amounts, you'd know. You obviously don't want to swallow large amounts of pure e-liquid, but a little bit of spit back here and there, or just a tiny mishap that gets a tiny bit in your mouth is no issue.

Most of the nicotine you absorb is done so via your mouth, throat, and sinuses anyway, not your lungs. It's nothing to sweat about. I've ingested a little juice before, and the worst I got was some fairly bad heartburn. Drink some extra water (lol... more than the extra water you should be drinking anyway just because you're vaping) and you'll be fine.

Thanks for answering my post so quickly. I am thinking of cutting down the amount of nicotine in my eliquid, at the moment I am using full strength.

Might be a good idea to explain what you mean by full strength? Like how many mg nicotine are you using in your eliquid? Most of us reduce our nic levels over time but if you drop too much too quickly you could end up with a relapse of craving cigs again and we don't want that to happen :)

Also, depending on what tank you're using, you should think about lowering your nic strength down. 24 is very high for 99% of vapers out there. And yes, you can absorb nic through the skin, think about "quit smoking" patches that rely on abosortion through the skin. Not harmful if only a very small amount.

I went from 24 mg to 15 mg (mixing 24 mg and 6 mg juice in a 1:1 ratio). About a week later, I dropped down to 6 mg and have been at 6 mg ever since (about a month and a half). The drops was necessitated by getting more efficient gear. The drop from 24 mg to 15 mg came about from me upgrading from a Halo Triton to an Aspire Nautilus Mini on an iStick 50. I dropped from 15 mg to 6 mg when I started subohming. The first day at 6 mg was a bit tough. I was chain vaping like a fiend and craving the nicotine. That only lasted me one day though. I still chain vape to an extent, but I don't have the jitters from nicotine withdrawals. Considering that I got used to the lower nic levels so quickly, I think the cravings were more mental than physical.

Honestly, nothing to worry about. I get spit back every time on some RDAs, a little juice on your lips or tongue won't hurt. I know of DIYers that will put a drip on their tongue that'll try it to see if anything needs to be added

On a camping trip, my mod broke 6 hours from home & I didn't have a backup with me. Still had my juice, though! Every few hours, I'd put a drop or two under my tongue & hold it as long as I could stand it, then spit it out (this was about 25mg juice). The only negative effects were mild indigestion and a slight burning sensation in the mouth... but it kept me from bumming a cig from my brother in law. Not recommended for long term, but in a pinch (or an aircraft)... Just think of it as nicotine gum minus the gum part.

Desperate times call for desperate measures, eh?
