Hi

I upgraded my SX Mini M today and ended up with Joule mode not working

I have an NI-200 0.15 Ohm coil. It worked GREAT before the upgrade

Now It's NOT :( On Joule mode it's giving me 0.06 Ohm reading and when I fire it gives me "dry coil no liquid" error, power mode is working fine

I tried to step the firmware down to 120W FW and back again to 150W FW, still not working

what can I do now???

Try installing the original firmware? FWIW, the new firmware only really applies if you are using the extension tube to make it a dual battery mod. If you are not using the dual battery extension tube, there is really no need to update the firmware. The other changes isn't enough incentive for me to potentially brick my mod.

Don't mind me asking, did you resync the resistance after the update?

In regards to the firmware update, I agree that the new features may not be useful to some people. However, there are bug fixes as well and some people posted in the other thread that the temperature limiting is much more accurate than previous firmware.

Then again...if you are vaping happily and have no issues in the previous firmware, it's best to stick with it until a stable firmware is released. Same like smartphones.

Just my 2 cents

Have you watched the PBusardo review of this device on Youtube? I believe he mentions that issue, and that it took powering the device off and back on again to clear that.

I am having the same issue, I upgraded the firmware because I was experiencing a similar problem on the original firmware. Before the upgrade all TC coils would read properly in power mode, but would read 0.31 in joules mode. This obviously affects the vape and it was unusable for TC. I did the upgrade with no atomizer on the device. I power cycled it to make sure that the new firmware was loaded. Put on a Subtank Mini with a nickle core and it reads 0.14 in power mode, I switch it to joules mode and now reads 0.06. It reads the same no matter what build I put on the device. I don't understand why it reads the resistance correctly in power mode and then reads 0.31 (before upgrade) or 0.06 (after upgrade) on all atomizers. Am I missing something in settings that would cause this. I have not trouble building ni200 coils on the DNA40 and they also work great on the Invader Mini, I bought one of the Vaporshark Subtank nickle cores to try to eliminate me as the error, but has the same effect. It works on the DNA40 and does not on the SX.

Completely Average

Have you resynched the atomizer back to the mod in joules mode?

Attach the atomizer and then press both the up and down buttons at the same time while both the mod and atomizer are at room temperature. This should make the mod redetect the atomizer resistance.

Thank you for this suggestion sir. I upgraded to the new firmware couples day back and was stuck to 0.06. Now it reads 0.169 and I don't have the "dry coil, no liquid" issue anymore. :rickroll:

All of my laptops and PC's are Windows 7 - 64 bit. None of them will detect the Mini as a valid device. Driver software was downloaded with anti-virus off on all three prior to connecting. None of the pc's/laptops will detect the mod either with batteries in + link or batteries out. Could I have a bad chip of is it my Windows version?

I updated both of mine with Windows 7. I'm not quite remembering, but it seems to me I had some little glitch the first time I did it that I thought was due to the OS.

I'm lost at this point. Same error not detecting detecting device on all of Windows 7's... Yihi CS won't answer me either. I'm wondering if I have a bad chip.
