There are just too many caramels out there to try them all. I would love a simple, creamy sweet caramel recipe. A stand-alone flavor would be great, but I'm willing to blend to make something that I like.

For reference, I've tried TPA Caramel (not Caramel Candy) and FW Salted Caramel. They were both okay, but not great. They both seemed a little dry to me and really weren't sweet at all, even when paired with EM.

Anyhow, I would love to get your flavor suggestions and/or caramel recipes.

Thanks in advance!

I have the TFA Caramel Original it's just okay nothing special. I also have the FA Caramel it's a lot better. I also have FW Caramel Candy it is very nice and sweet.

Good to hear. Can you describe the difference between the Caramel and Caramel Candy? Is the "Candy" simply a sweeter version?

How about mixing caramel with marshmallow. Seems like that would be a great combo to me

True. I'm envisioning something with a flavor profile kinda like: caramel+cream+EM, maybe sweetener. The question is, which caramel? I tried a similar concoction with TPA flavors but could not get anything satisfying.

Yes the FW Caramel Candy is sweeter than plain Caramel. I read that Flavor West Flavor quality varies from vendor to vendor so I ordered directly from Flavor West. I was looking for a really good Caramel and the FW Caramel Candy won the DIY vote.

Maybe you're looking for Butterscotch, I just some FA and it smells really good can't wait for it to finish steeping.

Caramel and Butterscotch mixed = Yummy in the tummy!

I forgot we're vaping it

I've only tried TPA butterscotch before and didn't care for it. Maybe the FW is better. That recipe looks good, though I want to stay away from vanilla if possible cause I already have 2 other recipes that are vanilla based and was hoping to add something to the stable that was totally different. Perhaps I can play with that recipe and lower the vanilla to a mere background note, concentrating on the caramel.

Thanks again for your help.

BTW- are you using FW flavors for this recipe, or LA as the recipe states? Would love to hear your thoughts on it when you give it a taste.

EDIT: Just read your last post on that thread. Assuming you're use FW Butterscotch and FW Caramel Candy?

No, I'm using FA Caramel and FA Butterscotch.

If you want 'creamy sweet caramel' taste (which I like very much, too) then try the TFA Caramel Candy - that is the difference between the "candy" and the regular caramel - the candy is creamier.

If you want to go a notch higher in creaminess (and still retain a caramel flavor), then go for the Dulce de Leche (also TFA).

5% is a good starting point for both. Hope that helps.

On that note, does anyone have feedback on this Natural Caramel Flavor by Lorann ?

This is one of my favorite caramels. Deep and creamy, and seems to improve in a juice with time.

TPA Caramel Candy is very close to those cube chewy caramels. Lighter than the Lorann Natural Creamy Caramel.

Another that I like is a more asian caramel: TPA RY4 Asian. Very "light colored" caramel. really nice.

Regular Lorann Caramel is a good one, but a deeper caramel, very similar to the Natural line.

Not a fan of Capellas caramel. Somewhat chemical in nature.
