Like many others here e-cigs are (unfortunately) not enough for me to kick the analogs so I recently picked up a tin of Camel Snus Mellow just for the heck of it and was surprised at how much better they were at helping me manage my cravings and I was wondering if there was any Sweedish Snus that might be comparable to the Camel Mellow Snus as I would prefer sweet over salty.

TIA!

Etten original is the closest I have tried. Plain tobacco flavor without much salt, some have described it as having just a hint of coco flavor. Not sweet though. Someone else can chime in on this, but Lab01 could be close as well. Personally I like Lab more than Ettan.

If you like mint, General mini mints are very popular.

I'd agree with Skrymr. Nothing compares to Camel in sweetness other than corn syrup. General Mini Mints (4mg nic) are not as sweet, but they are sweet and have much more to offer in the nicotine/alkaloid category. If Camel makes you feel good, the Mini Mints will make you feel fantastic. Then again, there's Thunder Frosted Mini's (8mg nic), not really sweet, but a nice spearmint flavor. They'll take you to another place if the Camel is working for ya :).

Thanks guys! I will try Ettan and Lab with my next order

I got trigger happy so I ordered:

  • General Mini White Portion
  • Thunder Original Mini Portion
  • Fellinni Mint Mini White Portion
  • Roda Lacket White Portion

One of them (don't remember which) had a review where it talked about being a bit sweet which is fine - I guess I don't really need sweetness but "the salty" scared me off a bit.

I was actually quite surprised by how much the Camel Snus did work for me but since I don't trust the US tobacco industry one iota it would be great if one the Swedish brands "does it" for me.

On a side note I just have to say it's a pleasure to visit this subforum and encounter people who (like myself) can't just do the e-cig thing. It's truly flabbergasting to encounter story after story about people who not only completely quit analogs but also claim to have no craving for one. I would KILL for that.

I mean I'm using 24-36mg on a 5V and it still isn't enough :(

Thanks again!

yanks, don't let the salt put you off. You really do get used to it, and I don't think it's that heavy to begin with.

With that being said, snus does take some getting used to. You could hate one kind one day, and the next love it. I try not to make a final judgement on it until I finsh the can.

Good luck on you're search for the right way to quit smoking. We'll help any way we can.

Oh, and welcome to swedish snus (the other side of the tracks)

Good to know . . .

Many thanks!

At this point I really do know my last hurdle is psychological since the e-cig and the Camel snus got me through 3 days at a non-smoking resort with the e-cig functioning as my pacifier and the snus taking the edge off.

I would definitely recommend the lab 01. I so far have not cared much for regular tobacco flavored snus but the lab 01 has a really good tobacco flavor and the flavor seems to last a really long time for me.

Cool, I will add it to my list!

That may happen to me as well. I was one of "those people" who got into e-cigs searching for that "right" tobacco flavor and I kind of did with Kant but find myself reaching for other flavors more often.

It may turn out to be the same with the snus.

If the lab is kinda ehh for you dip that portion in coffee and replace it in your gob.

:D

Coffee makes EVERYTHING better!

    Somewhere between here and there
To me it is fun to try new flavors of snus but like many I am a creature of habit and have fairly quickly found a few that I believe will be staples for me. The people here have been a great help by describing new flavors when they try them. Always feel free to ask questions as chances are that someone has tried the snus that you are thinking about getting.

Yes it is and some are fortunate enough, but not me or anyone else who resides on this side of the tracks. You'll always be in good company here. When you get your order in, pop over here http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...whats-under-your-lip-your-nose-right-now.html. It's the watering hole where we generally chat back and forth about whatever and a good place leave your impressions...good or bad :).

I'm right there with ya, Yank! Looks like it's going to be a combination of things for me... E-cig to manage the hand-to-mouth and snus to get "the rest". :thumb:

I found the Camel Mellow quite tasty when I first put it in but after about half an hour it was a bit too much, too sickly. The only other one that has had a similar effect with me was Mocca Pomegranate (mini). Although the taste is nothing like Camel Mellow, the sweetness (and lack of salt) is similar IMHO so you might quite like it.

Thanks again, everybody and sorry for the delay with my thanks: I've been sick so my new snus are sitting here untouched for the most part since I can't taste anything.

I want to especially thank "veterans" like Victor who like TropicalBob give us newbies hope that some combination does/can exist and we can get and stay off the smokes.

    Cheers To All!

Karen: Just read this thread. Welcome to the world of snusing. Of everything posted, the only thing I'd quibble with is a recommendation of Ettan. Phew. That is not sweet at all, just pure tobacco, and it stinks.

You'll like the General Mini Mint a lot. Also the Fellini. Thunder not so much. You'll also like the Oomph products, particularly the 3mg or 6mg Citrus/Menthol. I, too, liked the Camel products, but they're just too expensive. If they were portion for portion the same price as Swedish snus, they'd have a place in my daily rotation.

    Hope you enjoy your purchases.

Stay away from any snus with only "tobacco" listed as an ingredient. Nasty stuff for a very select group of hardcores, myself included (I need about two Ettans a day).

You're right, Bob! General Mini rocks but it isn't the mint it's just the plain General White Mini.

Fellini didn't do much for me - no "hit" - but the package say 6g and the General say 10g so I'm thinking the Fellini wasn't strong enough.

Haven't tried the Thunder and the Roda Lacket was just okay.

    Yeah, General White Mini!!!!

    EDIT:

    Thunder not so much.

Actually for taste Thunder is at the bottom but in terms of satisfying me it's at the TOP!
