Hello again and welcome to today's review of the Suorin Fero Pod Kit that was sent to me from Suorin. The Fero isn't your run of the mill pod kit but it's not a complicated system either. Simple and easy to use the Fero also has some nice features that you'll appreciate like adjustable airflow, adjustable wattage, LED lights with a choice of different patterns and the smart wattage feature that I think should be on every device that uses either integrated pods or drop in coils so you can't raise the wattage over the maximum power output rated for the pod or coil being used thus protecting the coil. There's a maximum power output of 25 watts using a 1000mAh internal battery. Being pretty streamlined the Fero uses only 1 button that multitasks as the fire and menu button. Prior to my review there is some manufacturer information, there is a phrase that's used a few times that I don't understand ( Always On ) because you have the ability to turn the device off, anyway lets get started.

    SIX SAFETY PROTECTIONS

    GOOD HAND FIT AND FEEL

    FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Packaging is very simple with a slide out bottom half of a box with the Fero resting in a plastic tray having the 0.6Ω pod preinstalled, underneath the tray is the 2nd 0.8Ω pod, lanyard and USB-C charge cord and the user manual in pamphlet form.

I was sent the Blue Margarita color and it looks pretty sharp, a pattern of what looks like scales can be seen but not felt as the device is smooth throughout. Picking the device up I found it to be a lightweight device and I appreciate that the fire button and airflow control don't protrude much.

There is only 1 button that does double duty as a menu select and adjust button and also can be used to manually fire the device manually but the auto draw feature works so well I see no point .

As I always do when starting a review I charged the device, it was almost fully charged so it wasn't long to wait, there is a battery bar along with a battery % indicator ( I LIKE HAVING BOTH ).

The USB-C charge port is located on the side of the device, because the device is so lightweight and thin it wont stand upright when charging.

I recommend laying it down anyway because of how thin the device is, it will tip over if sitting upright with the slightest nudge or bump. 3 battery ventilation holes are on the bottom also.

Pulling the preinstalled pod out I noticed a sticker with the word REMOVE placed across it's bottom as a safety procedure during shipping, any device with a auto draw feature should have this type of safety measure during shipping.

Two strong magnets sit on the outside of the pod contacts. Two airflow pod inlet holes sit offset from each other below and above the pods contacts. There is a rather large airflow inlet hole shaped in a long oval pattern on the inside of the device below the contacts pins.

I was very happy to see the Suorin chose to lightly tint their pods so juice viewing is a breeze. The fill method is the rubber plug type that's side mounted.

The fill port is plenty large allowing pod air to escape quickly during filling so you should not have any messes, filling can be done very fast.

A word of caution though as far as the rubber plug, don't be rough with it because it's very thin and can tear easily if manhandled. I understand the reason for it, ( the pod is disposable ). There is a minimum fill line that when the pod is installed in the mod is the very bottom of the pod.

The fire button/ menu select and adjust button is located on the side 180° of the USB-C charge port on the other side of the device. The adjustable airflow control is located on the backside of the device, it has a very nice and tight resistance so it won't slip off your setting if in a pocket.

Another nice feature that all devices like this should have is the ability to disable the fire button for worry free pocket carry.

When disabled the fire button no longer will function to manually fire the device or make adjustments only auto draw works, a locked padlock symbol is shown on the display screen, when in the unlocked mode a open padlock is displayed and adjustments as well as manual fire or auto fire is possible.

Lights are on the Fero by way of LED's that form a bezel around the display screen. There are 5 color patterns to choose from, but there's no way to turn the lights off. Thankfully they aren't on for a long time as to put a drain on the internal battery. Whenever the pod is installed, removed or when vaping the LED lights illuminate for 5 seconds.

    20240605_131442.jpg

A very nice feature included in the Fero is smart wattage as I like to call it preventing the user from applying more wattage than the maximum wattage coil is rated for preventing a burnt up coil. To turn the device on a simple 5 quick presses of the fire button brings the Fero to life.

To make a wattage adjustment when in unlocked mode simply press the fire button 3 times quickly, the wattage will begin flashing then press the fire button to adjust, when maximum wattage for the coil being used is reached a red LED light will flash throughout the bezel and max wattage will be displayed briefly, pressing again it will round robin to the minimum wattage.

To enter the menu for your light patterns, 5 digit puff counter clearer, lock/unlock the fire button or to turn the device off simply press the fire button 5 times quickly and the menu will appear, then scroll down to the option you want and long press the fire button to activate it.

    FINAL IMPRESSIONS

    20240605_132253.jpg

I like the Fero because flavor from both pods was good and the airflow was smooth and very quiet as well. The mouthpiece is comfortable to use being just the right size.

I also like how streamlined the device is having no issues of snagging in my pocket. The display screen is plenty bright and the fonts even though on the small side can be read easily.

Having a lightly tinted pod and a 3ml one at that make for easy viewing of juice. I like the 1000mAh battery for duration. As far as the lights go I do wish you could turn them off but I'd probably turn them on again anyway, I like them and there on for a short time.

All in all I really like the Fero and recommend it if your looking for a lightweight slender device with a good sized internal battery and good flavor from the pods.

I would like to thank Suorin for providing the Fero Pod Kit for the purpose of my review and I thank all of you that read my reviews.

    THANK YOU

Nice review Bob. I wonder why so many pods put the fire button on the side. I personally find it awkward and only use those in auto draw mode because of it.
It's probably the best location for the manufacturer, I would much rather use auto fire anyway.
