I have been buying liquid with less VG because I am not a super fan of giant clouds, but I'm finding that I'm missing the sweetness. I've come across two different kinds of sweetener and would like opinions on them. Which works better in tobacco flavored? Fruit flavors? And what about that LorAnn flavoring? I've seen some people add it but does it sweeten?

You are asking some big questions! lol That's okay, I've got you!

Ethyl maltol is also used as a cotton candy flavor... It definitely sweetens, but also adds it's own distinct taste to juices. It tends to round juices out and adds a certain creaminess. If you're looking for just sweeter, I would go with the sucralose sweetener. Use it very sparingly though! Try it at a drop, then two drops, etc. until you find a point where you're happy. Sucralose sweetener is very potent.

I would get the sweetener or ethyl maltol from The Flavor Apprentice.

Here you go: Sweetener Flavor Concentrate by TFA (1oz)

As for LorAnn's... That's a flavoring company, just like Capella, The Flavor Apprentice, Flavor West, Hangsen, and Flavor Art. They have all sorts of flavorings like strawberry, apple, graham cracker, etc.

You're getting into DIY juice here. Thats where people buy their own PG, VG, Nicotine and flavorings to mix their own juice.

As for flavouring companies well one is as good or bad as the other , people have their favourites and some buy from different companies and some like one flavour from one company but not from another and vice versa.

The flavours apprentice is popular and you can get bulk sizes from them for good value.

Yep, I finally decided to actually ask my questions instead of just lurking about hoping someone else had asked them.

Sucralose is a STRONG sweetener. Excessively strong, and easily overpowers most flavors. 1 drop per 10ml of juice is usually enough. 1 drop per 5ml will usually overpower most other flavors and you'll taste the sweetener more than anything else. Sucralose is the sweetener used in Splenda, but less than 5% of a packet of Splenda is actual sucralose, the rest is just filler to make the packet look full.

Ethyl malto is a much more mild, more natural tasting sweetener. It's easier to use when trying to find the right balance of sweetness is necessary, or when trying to get subtle differences in the sweet flavor. It's more complimentary to flavors rather than simply being SWEET. It's also a lot easier to use if you're mixing small batches.

Each has their use, and which to use depends a lot on what you're wanting from a sweetener. If you're wanting very strong sweet, particularly if you're mixing a large batch of juice and don't want to use a ton of sweetener, use sucralose (sparingly). If you're wanting more subtleness, use ethyl malto.

I use the EM with fruity flavors. It tends to round them out. (takes the edge off). As they said sucralose is great and super sweet to me. Like what was said above. Use it sparingly to start with. Its hard to explain but its a different kind of sweet. Its more of a sugary sweet while (to me) the EM is more of an enhancer

I think I'm too lazy to diy liquids. Though adding more flavor to liquids I have is a possibility.

Ha ha I hear ya. However... After you start DIYing and you see that you can make juices you like more than commercial juice for $0.03/mL... The laziness goes away. :)
