I made a small batch of a wild mix up and the strawberries were absolutely horrible. Does the flavor of Strawberry typically not taste good unless it steeps, or is the flavor just hard to work with. I used it at 5% along with the other flavors used at around the same if not less. BTW all flavors are TFA. Can anyone give some feed back? Anything would be great..
Thanks

I have experience with only one strawberry so far, the Capella sweet strawberry. It doesn't need to steep at all, it's good right after it's mixed, and to me it tastes like lightly sweetened fresh strawberries (like sliced in a bowl and sprinkled with sugar). I've not tried the TFA strawberry, but I know a lot of people like it. What was your recipe, exactly? Maybe we can help you troubleshoot it. :)

I don't have it on me because I am at work but I can re-post later on this afternoon when Iget home. Does strawberry need to be used at a minimum% in order for it to taste right. It tasted perfumy to me. I even let it sit out with the top off overnight and it still tasted awful. :nah: I tried a CAP strawberry once before also and it was bad too.

I don't know, I never have experienced a perfumy taste with the Cap's strawberry. It tastes good right away. I normally use 10% if I'm mixing it with other flavors, or 15% by itself or with one other flavor. I've used it at 20% as a single flavor and it was good, but that was a while ago. I much prefer my strawberries with cream now, so I usually only use 10% to 15% because I have other flavors making up the total flavor mix.

In any case, post your recipe when you have time, and maybe someone will spot something. Or be able to make a suggestion for a change in percentages, or a different flavor combo, or something. Strawberries and cream should NEVER taste awful! ;)

The only strawberry flavors I like so far are TFA Strawberry Ripe and Inawera Strawberry. The others taste like plastic to me. I do go light on the percentage, but I do very light flavoring in all my juice. I think everyone's taste buds are a bit different!

I've made the following with TFA flavors, and it's exceptional!

I actually do use CAP Butter Cream, but pretty much everything else is TFA for me (TFA Strawberry Ripe instead of CAP Sweet Strawberry). Even at these percentages, I get a light strawberry custard that doesn't taste like tukus.

I've used all the various strawberries and for me the tfa ripe and fa are the best. May I suggest a simple recipe might be more advantageous rather than a complex recipe just until you find something that works for you.
Custards are tricky and require long steeping times. Oppositely, a strawberry milkshake made with one or 2 strawberry flavors and some vanilla bean ice cream makes a shake and vape juice that you can sample immediately to determine if you are on the right track.

Hope this is helpful.

I've had this problem before when mixing strawberry and cream/custard. Letting it sit for a week or 2 usually sorts it out. Taking the cap off for an hour or so every few days may help as well. I don't use strawberry very much but whenever I mixed it with a cream/custard, letting it sit was mandatory.

This may be the case for you as well. Can't hurt to try.

I think you may be right AJ! Although I have let it sit before in the past, I still did not get the results that I wanted. I pretty much give up on strawberry & cream. I wonder if other the other strawberry is the same way?
I find TFA Strawberry tastes like strawberry mashmellow 5c candies and the TFA Ripe Strawberry tastes like a strawberry that's going bad. I'd try CAP or lower the %. You can give your mix a couple hot baths to speed up steeping but it'll lose flavour faster so just use it all within in a week or so.
