So I've been vaping for about 2 years. Currently I have an aegis x mod and a falcon tank. Which I love. But I've recently tried a couple brands of juice that's really hurt my throat.
Keep in mind, I vape 3mg nic.
My favorite is candy king. Always smooth hits with lots of flavor. But my shop quit selling it. I do buy online a lot but I substituted with air factory, which I've heard lots of good things about. Same nic level, same tank and coil type, but it hurts my throat a lot. This isnt the first time I've came across brands that's done this to me. Any ideas why? Theres several brands that I use that's completely fine. But some not so much.

Welcome to ECF ItsJon! Some of us start out with or develop a sensitivity to some flavorings used by liquid makers. It might be the particular brand of flavorings or the quantity of flavoring they use too. It's not that unusual and steering clear of liquids and flavors that irritate is pretty much a trial and error process. Maybe if you branch out and sample a couple other brands that sound tasty you'll find varieties that are smooth to your tastes.

I don't know if it's specifically Air Factory or what but I was given some of their menthol liquid and I found it to be very harsh compared to the menthols I vape. I cut it in half with unflavored and it helped but still had that harsh edge.

Good luck in your hunt!

Hi and welcome,
Which flavors have you tried within each brand?
Are they salts or freebase juices?
Do they include chemical cooling agents in addition to menthol/mint flavoring?

How long did you smoke and how many per day?
Are you still smoking?
Where are you located?

Cheers

I vape freebase. 3mg, and no menthol and no I dont smoke still.

Weird thing is... I left the bottle of juice in my hot car for a few hours and now it's not nearly as harsh... dunno why. I usually try to avoid letting my juice get hot but it seems to have helped it?
Could some of the "new to you" juice be very...young?
Often, freshly mixed juice can/may be harsh.
The aging process (heat aided in your situation) allows the ingredients to blend. Aging also permits any VOCs to accumulate and evaporate/sublimate when the liquid is exposed to air. (Any alcohol in the flavorings, for example)
I don't suggest using heat, (heat/oxygen/UV all degrade nicotine), but you may notice a similar difference by simply tossing it in a cupboard for two weeks.
If your climate is not overly humid, you could try leaving the cap off of the bottle for 15-20 mins every few days. Recap, shake and return the bottle to the cupboard if it has not mellowed to your expectations.

Since you say heat degrades nicotine, could the issue be improper measurement on the manufacturer's side? Maybe it was a bit more than 3mg. Does that happen sometimes?

While that is a possibility, it is of low probability in general.
Where did you buy the product? local/online/ebay- social media?
Check with the manufacturer for recalls or issues with the "batch" number printed on the bottle(s).
Where are you located?

Cheers

Heat can degrade nic a bit, sure but I think you might need longer to make any measurable difference. Heat is known to increase steeping, so I think it might be that? As long as all things are the same VG/PG level (higher PG can also taste harsher) but IDK. If you like the juice now, at least you kinda know maybe order the next bottle sooner if you can.

Many vendors are offering "born on dates." When I try a new mix (of my own) I put it aside for at least 6 weeks more before even adjusting it these days. I had this chocolate toffee mix I thought was vile, 3 months later I loved it.
