Hello darkside, lol~!

I've been vaping since mid September and find myself still struggling with giving up the analogs. I've been steered in this direction by a few members to try out snus. I have never used snus or any smokeless tobacco before so I'm at a loss as to what would be best for me to start with. I smoke Pall Mall menthols, down from 30 a day to 15 a daysince I started vaping.

Just looking for a general idea of what would be best to try first and where the best deal for getting it would be. All suggestions are appreciated~!

lynlee, a lot of us couldn't do it on vaping alone. PM me your address and I will send you some Fellinni minis, Julesnus, Lab01, and Thunder Frosted mini portions. I will include some American Marlboro and Camel snus, too. The Swedish is far better, IMO, but the American is readily available at many gas stations and might have enough of the goods to hold you over while you find your sweet spot. General also has trial packs cheap at the Northerner site.

Anyone else have anything different they could spare a few portions of? Since I found the flavors I like, I don't really order a bunch of different things anymore.

Thanks for the great offer hittman~! Firechick rocks too~!

I looked at getsnus and jotted down the ones that sound pretty good to me:

Jakobson Wintergreen
Northener Citrus & Menthol
Thunder Frosted Long & Strong
Offroad Frosted
Jakobsons Icefruit
Olde Viking Spearmint
Roda Lacket White
Odens Extra Stark Kanel
Nordic Ice Frosted Mint
Nordic Ice Wild Cherries

I find it a little amusing that my initial reason to want to quit smoking was due to an insurance credit they offer at my work.....saving money. Yeah right, with all the PV's, juices, attys, diy stuff...now trying out snus....I'll be broke before you know it~!

Thanks for your help friends~!

I would make a few suggestions as to the list. Personal taste vary of course but I would stay away these

OffRoad Frosted - Among the few snuses I actually threw out. Nasty stuff. Stay with the thunder frosted. I don't like anything frosted but many do. Of those that do Thunder is considered miles ahead of OffRoad

Nordic - Stay away from the Nordic. It's an american made snus with a low Nicotine content. It's not going to do anything for you.

Viking - Never tried it but from what I hear it is not made the same as traditional Swedish snus. It is fermented as opposed to pasteurized. I would drop this one from the list.

As you smoked a pack and a half a day you have a high nicotine tolerance. Nothing wrong with that but you will do well with stronger snus. Except for the Northerner Citrus Menthol which I do recommend I wouldn't do anything less then the standard 8mg portions.

A few suggestions for the list

General Wintergreen
General white Mint
Lab 02

LynLee... I think you will find that snus can be very pleasurable and also very effective in bridging the gap between smoking and vaping. Snus is a spectacular tool when the vaping can't quite satisfy you. I will agree with the above posters... Swedish snus is in a totally different ballpark than domestic varieties. Don't worry, there are many suppliers that ship from American warehouses and are quite affordable. Swedish Snus. Order Snus Online At Our Smokeless Tobacco Shop. for example allows you to filter your shopping results by products in stock in their US warehouse.

I can vouch personally for Roda Lacket... it is a very well rounded snus with dark berry undertones and a nice hint of salt. I am glad to see it on your list because it is my favorite snus. Jakobsen's Icefruit is very good but also pretty strong. If you are still smoking, it should not be too strong. The fruit is not very sweet.

I would also recommend you try:

Original General Portion, an indomitable classic:
General, Portion, Snus

Olde Viking Ginger Lime = delicious:
Olde Viking Ginger / Lime, Portion, Snus

Nick and Johnny Strong portion... awesome flavor and high potency that will annihilate any analog cravings:
Nick & Johnny, Strong Portion, Snus

These are all commonly available on many snus websites, and they are all very good, if only for my own personal tastes. Any way, I hope you try snus and like it, especially if it can help you quit analogs. (It's also pretty convenient for plane flights and movie theaters as well!)

it's hard to say what you will like especially when you add in the weird taste issues most people get when they quit smoking but, for the wife and i, we use (we keep these open in the freezer at all times):
general mini mint
Thunder mini
general white mini
Grov original
general mint
offroad lakritis
and then a stronger portion of some sort - grov black, jakobsson wintergreen, onyx etc..

If i know the great people on this forum though, i'd say you've probably already got tons of snus headed your way .

Why do people say Swedish Snus are better?
I've tried Camel and Marlboro...they're OK but what is the difference in the Swedish one's? Taste? Nicotine?
Are the Swedish ones smaller? I'd like that.

the quality, taste ,variety and nicotine amount in the swedish stuff is miles above the camel and marlboro. The american stuff tends to be super sweet and the swedish tends to be on the salty side with alot better tobacco flavor.
the swedish mini portions are smaller than the camel and marlboros if i remember correctly (it's been a while since i've had either).
